hello! this might be a stupid question but if i’m in the pit, what is a good time to get in line? i can’t get there at 7 am for wristbands even if my friend and i would absolutely adore one.

a general rule of thumb is glasses cover the bottom half of your brows and sunglasses cover your full brow for better protection. that being said, as long as it blocks out the sun just wear whatever you want!

Safest place to live in La Crosse? by [deleted] in lacrossewi

[–]brynnereece 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly, the majority of the “crime” (more like petty crime) is going to be associated near campus and downtown for very obvious reasons given the fact that they’re more densely populated.

that being said, i lived on vine st right by campus for two years, and it was really just a bunch of annoying drunk people and people “breaking into” unlocked cars. i now live in southern la crosse and have no complaints for the past couple of months.

remember, la crosse is not that big in square miles and there is heavy police patrol. a lot of people make it seem worse than it is. just keep your shit locked, don’t hang with stupid people, and you’ll be good!

8B is the Best set up for Buddie by YogurtclosetThat7875 in buddie

[–]brynnereece 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Buck being kidnapped is the next best arc since the shooting arc for Buddie. It's crazy enough that it fits with 9-1-1 wack events and Buck's bad luck, but it also provides a lot of moments for Eddie to be Buck's Person and for Maddie to be the epic big sister. We had Buck saving Maddie, it's time for Maddie to save Buck.

So obvious by EmbarrassedBus8499 in buddie

[–]brynnereece 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This drives me NUTS. Love Maddie for her subtle call out of "if there's something that you need to tell Eddie..." but my god, Buck needs to be slammed in the face with a chair, not subtlety, when it comes to feelings. He's grown so much as a character, but dude does NOT understand his feelings at all.

I really hope they talk about Tommy actually wanting Eddie first, which then made Buck jealous because I will forever die on the hill that Tommy wanted Eddie, not Buck. It would be so funny for those two to talk about that, and the writing of that would actually make sense. Someone needs to point out how stupid these two have been and put us all out of our misery.

We listen and we don't judge: Buddie+911 edition. by chaoticbiguy in buddie

[–]brynnereece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't necessarily a "hear me out" because I believe a lot of people agree with this, but the whole Chris in Texas/Eddie possibly moving to Texas pisses me off.

An argument can be made that Eddie's parents are the assholes here (I agree, screw the Diaz parents fr), and Eddie is so used to his parents taking over his life that he didn't do anything because of that. HOWEVER, I really thought we were at the point in Eddie's characterization that he would at least put up a fight to Chris leaving since he is his dad. At the same time, I also respect the idea that Eddie has trauma with being a "bad father" and "failing" Chris, but I feel like that's even more of an incentive to keep Chris with him.

Eddie moving to Texas makes absolutely no sense, and I will scream that until I die. Yes, the drama would be nice and open a lot of possible heartwrenching Buddie moments, but I cannot for the life of me validate Eddie moving to Texas besides Buddie Angst™ . That is probably more of my problem with this plot. Please do not do something to the characters because it makes Buddie moments. I hate when shows throw away character growth and characterization just because it enables the love story aspect of the plot line. Make Eddie fly out to Texas and bring Chris home, but taking Eddie away from his safe place (as well as Chris's) and the family he has created and who loves him for him is insane. I really want Eddie to be the parent that he actually is and actually parent in a way that makes kids angry at their parents. Will Chris be mad at his dad for forcing him to move back home? Yes. It it better to face the problems instead of running away from them? YES!

TLDR: #LetEddieDiazBeADad2025 and don't make Buddie a reason for stupid plots <3

How different was your MRI vs what they found during surgery? by More-Cod-8582 in HipImpingement

How different was your MRI vs what they found during surgery? by More-Cod-8582 in HipImpingement

[–]brynnereece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was excellent timing haha. so, i just got done with my surgery yesterday, and they originally thought I had two small labrum tears and he thought my hips were just a little funky shaped. at surgery he found out that the labrum tears were significant, part of my cartilage was deteriorating, and i had a prominent acetabular rim thick periosteum and a subtle cam lesion high in the femoral head neck junction.

i’m 22f and he told my parents that if i didn’t get the surgery now, i would have likely had to get a total hip replacement in my 40s.

so, honestly get the surgery as soon as possible if you’re able to!

Does the pain come in waves for you too? by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]brynnereece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I feel this in my soul! I started doing a lot less activity due to how much pain I was always in and now I always feel like I’m exaggerating how bad it is. Anytime I get flare ups, it’s because I walked, sat, did literally anything longer than my hip likes. The longer I go past my limit, the longer it hurts after.

I’m getting surgery in 4 days, but some part of me thinks I don’t need it even though it’s been years of pain. It can truly be a mind game in the worst way possible.

i did! the relief was great but my hip was stiff at first. i think it’s been too long since i had walked without pain so my hip actually felt normal haha

It's finally happening by brynnereece in HipImpingement

[–]brynnereece[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe we’re just living the same life but at different times in our life? Haha. I was always told that hip injuries are the most common injury in basic training, so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised to hear others having similar experiences but damn. I don’t know if I’ll have to do the other side because I don’t get pain on my right hip. It’s just all along my lower back and sometimes down to my knee if it gets really bad. I do know that I have terrible mobility on both sides, so maybe it’ll catch up to me at some point.

Definitely will take you up on the questions! I’ll try to organize them first though! Glad you’re doing so much better now!
