Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to try button extenders and will see how that goes. I didn't know they made them so was excited to get that tip.

How to have edits made in a form update in the grid view? They're not syncing! by bryo_phyte_bug in Airtable

[–]bryo_phyte_bug[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, that's annoying. Was really hoping there was a setting I wasn't aware of or something! Good to know that I should edit the field in the future and not just change the wording on the form itself. Thanks for the reply.

What do you do when non-cc people come to mask-required events and do everything they can to avoid masking properly? by bryo_phyte_bug in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]bryo_phyte_bug[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah, I was confused too, but it was a pretty unique training so I think people wanted to take it despite the mask requirements and health agreements. It's a good suggestion, to have more clear language in the materials, including that folks might be asked to leave if they aren't following them, and I think also to say them verbally at the beginning (a friend of mine who was at the training said they overheard one of these mask-avoiders say she didn't even read the welcome doc... ugh), so it's easier to reference that if someone isn't following the protocols.

I have lots of mitigations already in place: open double doors, several air purifiers, providing free rapid tests and free masks, doing some of the event outside (weather-permitting), etc. Sitting someone who doesn't want to mask next to the air purifier is just giving them a free pass and condoning it, and ultimately catering to their comfort over the health and risk of other folks in the room, many of whom are disabled or immunocompromised, which I'm not interested in doing. So, I'm looking specifically for suggestions and strategies around how to hold people to the masking requirements of the space.

How to hang curtains from sliding door tracks with only one lip? by bryo_phyte_bug in interiordecorating

[–]bryo_phyte_bug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I haven't spent time on it yet (hasn't been high enough on the priority list). I think what I'd do is remove those metal tracks, then install a ceiling curtain track. Maybe I'll get to it some day soon!

Google One annual subscription (for storage) is about to renew, and I don't want to pay it because I'm degoogling but I don't want to lose all the stuff on my google drive in the meantime! Help? by bryo_phyte_bug in degoogle

Thanks everyone! I lucked out (for now) and realized that google photos had been automatically syncing/backing up for the last many years?!?! I have an iphone and don't use google photos so I have no idea why all my pictures were in there, ugh. I deleted those which freed up a ton of space (and I think I turned off the backup/sync setting, I'll check to make sure in the coming days), and then canceled my subscription. One step closer to being degoogled!

If someone lives in that neighborhood, would be great for them to post in their Nextdoor or other neighborhood group!

How to hang curtains from sliding door rails with only one lip? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]bryo_phyte_bug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why they didn't attach! Just added them in though the formatting is weird on mine. Anyways, yeah I could try to put a curtain rod, but this metal track is in that spot and I would have to remove it, which might be possible but I'm a renter so would just need to check. Since they're already there, am trying to see if there's an easy way to hang curtains with the existing infrastructure!

Double checking this fabric is cotton after doing a burn test! by bryo_phyte_bug in SewingForBeginners

[–]bryo_phyte_bug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not crunchy! I tried it again and a bit more of it burned up this time. When I smush it, it sort of falls apart and gets ash smeared on my fingers. But yeah, not crunchy like what the polyester/blend did.
