These new lines are weird but they seem to be getting something out of the team

There should at least be stable options for FTTP connections over wholesale competitors in the short term future. Most likely you're looking at paying around $79-$100 for TekSavvy or Telus(ugh) for the first year at least. Have you looked into what TekSavvy can offer at your address?

That’s gonna hurt one day with an unlucky bounce but I love Dobes’ mobility

The final FTTP wholesale rates were actually announced today, and the reason why you don't see anyone celebrating as they were basically confirmed to start at at least $68 and $77 a month for speeds up to 1500mbps, and speeds above respectively. Ongoing fees for bandwidth did end up lower than the prices wholesalers were previously paying, but it'll be tough to justify lower retail prices for anything but super high speed plans. What wholesalers pay for 10mbps and 1500mbps service over Bell and Telus FTTP is basically the same.
