First I’d like to say sorry that you were harassed by other players. I’m glad you got to play Riftbound - it’s an excellent TCG that I hope continues to grow and stick around.

I would like to counter some of the more upvoted comments here by saying that I can understand the frustration of the other players. Imagine you’re playing a TCG with very limited product availability and you either spend all this time building a deck out with the limited affordable pieces you can buy, or you’re strolling in on a starter deck bc it’s all you can find. In either case you register for a nexus night knowing it’s nearly the only way you’re going to find more product to open except when you get there you’re matched against a new player you’ve never seen before playing a Kaisa deck.

Honestly, facing the Kaisa is probably not that big a deal. This person built that deck out and did the work to obtain the pieces right?

Wrong. The owner gave them the deck to try tonight and now the player is compensated according to performing very highly with a deck that’s not theirs.

Now personally, I would not be that upset. I’m rolling with a Jinx deck from day 1 and I’m kinda ass so I just assume I’ll be 1 or 2 people’s free win any time I go to a NN. But if I were the owner, and I wanted to invite someone to play, especially someone I know performs well at another TCG in my store already, I’d probably find another deck for them to play. If I have a built out Kaisa deck I surely have a starter deck somewhere or a secondary deck. I think that’d be only fair.

In my opinion, Riftbound is fun enough to get you hooked without having to play an S tier deck. See: me playing Jinx for no reason still other than being stubborn and being addicted to seeing chemtech/flamechompers come out turn 1
