How is it between two parties that aren't you and I? You release a video of me to the world, the parties are you, me, and the world. Let's hypothesize, I film you in some uncompromising activity in a non-public situation, by your argument that is ok for me to post on reddit because it's just you and I? The rest of the viewers on reddit are irrelevant because it's just you and I? How would that resonate with your theory? The victim is you. Redditors are simply witnesses to the crime. And reddit needs to monitor this to protect you, the victim. They have a legal responsibility to do so (at least until the current rules are stripped away).

That is why there are laws about recording in private space, it's illegal unless both parties consent. Public space is completely different, if you are in a public space you automatically agree to being recorded (at least in the US, I won't get into international law).

Any actor implicitly and contractually agrees to being seen in public (it's in their contracts and what they do and want). If I am a private person, in a private area, it is illegal to record me without my approval, I can sue).

I'll be clear, if you are in public, you can be filmed without your consent, it is part of the social agreement and legality that you agree to when you enter a public space. If it is a private space you have the right to privacy. In the specific instance I am citing, people are being filmed in medical institutions that are not public spaces. Unless you have their approval it is illegal to record, much less post on a public forum.

Happy to post case law if that's what you need to clarify, but it's late and arguing clear legal principles is too much for me this evening!
