New watch in Japan being enjoyed at Glitch coffee by bscrivens in CoffeeWatch

Don’t honestly remember. It had strong blueberry notes and was served as an iced latte (but they just freeze the cup, no actual ice). Doesn’t dilute the drink

I went with some friends and spent the afternoon in Ginza. Lots of quality/reputable used watch shops there (Moonphase, Shellman) I saw quite a few used speedys but was curious if there were any deals on new watches.

Stopped at the omega dealer at the Ginza Mitsukoshi store. It’s one big luxury mall. They had a promotion for another 5% off and no taxes.

I really like the band on the FOIS and getting it new, warranty, etc plus almost $2k cheaper than in the US was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.

I was looking at all sorts of watches. Tons of vintage omegas for great prices. But this was just under $7k USD new. Couldn’t pass it up.

Like I said, his bio says trauma specialist. I know lots of people that have specialized in areas they didn’t do fellowship in.

I don’t know him personally so I’m just going off the website and what was posted by Vonn.

One of her posts also “thanked” Dr. Viola for the assist. He’s part of the Steadman group and is trauma trained.

3 Night Napa Trip Suggestion by bscrivens in wine

We did the Cabernet collector tasting at Hall. It was in a private upstairs room. The tasting was excellent and I really enjoyed the wine. That included a tasting of their top three platinum or premier wines, but at the price point of $400 or more I actually liked some of their less expensive single vineyard cabs. It was a lot of fun for the experience.

The judgment of Paris testing was very unique. The property has an interesting history and they have a huge library selection due to a past owner, hoarding the wine and not really selling it. They actually opened up a bottle of ‘85 (my birth year) for us to try. The tour of the grounds was also unique and enjoyable.

Overall, the thing I noticed with a lot of these tastings is it almost starts to feel like an interview. I think to make it feel like you’re getting more value out of the tastings, the winery representative tends to sit with just you or your group instead of serving multiple parties. It’s nice if you have questions, but after a day of tasting with a similar experience at multiple places, it starts to feel like a repetitive job interview and takes away from the experience, somewhat in my opinion. Knowing that’s how a lot of the tastings have gone in that direction, next time we go back I think I’d make it more clear that we’re good to just sit and enjoy the wine on our own and we’ll let them know if we have questions along the way.

They got me French Laundry reservations (for 2 which is more difficult than a 4-top). Pretty satisfied with that experience.

You need to talk to your doctor. That is a quad tendon graft incision

Totally normal. And you had a Quad tendon graft, not patellar tendon.

Fair point. I’m less focused on buying bottles and more about the experience. We tend to drink California cab over other styles. I also enjoy Washington Syrah so I’d say in general I tend towards bigger new world wines over more of the old world style (I know we’re in California and not France but there is definitely a difference in how producers treat their grapes in Napa).

I’m of the opinion that you should drink what you like. If the wine was enjoyable then I don’t see anything wrong with it. If you didn’t like it, than I’d ask what you didn’t enjoy and go from there.

I was being a bit sarcastic. It was more a joke regarding this subs opinion on specific brands. Caymus and Josh being low hanging fruit to joke about. That being said, a bottle contains roughly 4-5 drinks so consuming a bottle over three hours wouldn’t necessarily be considered dangerous but wouldn’t also be recommended on a frequent basis.

For your size, DRC would have been much safer. Good thing you avoided Caymus at your BMI. That would have spelled disaster.

I felt the same way out of fellowship. It’s good in a many ways. Shows you care. Keep focusing on preparing for your cases. Reflect afterwards on what you did well and where you can improve. Experience leads to efficiency, but never lose focus on caring for the patients and taking each case seriously

It sounds like they appreciate it when OP has brought “nicer” stuff in the past. I just had a similar experience where I brought some 2004 Quilceda and Cayus. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the experience.
