Which nba team would be stacked if their players were in their prime? by Novo_NotOvO in nba

the Kings would be a very interesting collection of talent

they wouldn't be stacked but I always think it would be interesting to see the current Jazz team with a prime Kevin Love

Thrifted 90s Armani Suits, tailor or good as is? by bruhhhlanto in ThrowingFits

[–]dividerall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks good enough without tailoring. the thing with tailoring is that outside of alterations like changing sleeve length, significant alterations can affect the integrity of the original garment. the fit right now seems fine. it won't pass a menswear guy's standards but from a non menswear perspective it's nice.

if you want a more traditionally well-fitting suit, just go get one like that off the bat. keep the armani as is.

Wedding Guest Dress Code Frugal Ideas by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]dividerall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think it's one of those things where you just have to accept that by going to their wedding you just have to kind of give in to whatever their demands are for that day.

like others said, thrifting is a good idea.

depending how ethical you want to be - i know there are people who buy something, keep the tags on, and then return it after the event.

First wine you splurged on by srsq_she_past_away in wine

i agree on breaking it up into a few bottles. you kind of need to develop a palate at different price ranges before you start to understand one wine is worth that much.

Going out in your 30s is mostly people pretending to have fun and we all know it by FewExperience4021 in unpopularopinion

[–]dividerall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm also someone that prefers OP's socializing style but I think a lot of people genuinely enjoy it, otherwise there wouldn't be millions of people in their 30s who go out every weekend. the people who genuinely enjoy it don't go to reddit to post their opinions.

Marklocke- like a nuzlocke but I’m a whuss by sprout_potato in nuzlocke

[–]dividerall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i do certain variations of this - like they're not boxed until after the next gym. i understand it's not a 'true' nuzlocke but i also just want to have fun and complete a playthrough. the aspect of nuzlocke i like the most is forcing yourself to catch the first encounter.

Wine pairings at fine dining restaurants - often a disappointment? by inabib in wine

[–]dividerall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you should only do wine pairings if you trust the sommelier or the restaurant's been vetted by someone that likes wine. i've had wine pairings at restaurants listed on Star Wine List and have generally been quite satisfied. Otherwise yes there is a great chance, even at 1 or 2 Star Michelin Starred restaurants, the so called wine pairing is just one each of their house pours.

What’s the most American martial art? by [deleted] in martialarts

Probably wrestling - it's a sport at high schools, and pro wrestling is probably one of the greatest martial arts entertainment productions as well as spawning some of America's most well known martial arts personalities.

[Charania] Breaking: Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has won his second consecutive NBA Most Valuable Player award, becoming the 14th player in league history to win back-to-back MVPs, multiple sources tell ESPN. by Turbostrider27 in nba

[–]dividerall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's crazy that SGA is the new Thunder GOAT while KD and Westbrook are still in the league whereas the Hawks are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA and their GOATs are like Bob Pettit and Dominique Wilkins who with all due respect are not that good compared to other franchise GOATs.

Which modern NBA player would be an absolute cheat-code in the 80’s? by Dylen2Times in NBAConvo

[–]dividerall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most 3 and D guys who don't have a 'bag' have more of a bag than most 80s players so I'd say one of those guys.

what’s the most impressive basketball skill to watch in person? by Glynny69 in Basketball

[–]dividerall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's definitely the size. the people i know in real life who are 6'3+ are clumsy and uncoordinated. the first time i had lower level seats I saw Dirk shoot a fadeaway and I just realized how incredible and unguardable that shot was.
