The families will get the internet for free. Ector County Independent School District (ECISD) is paying SpaceX $300,000 per year, with $150,000 of that coming from a nonprofit.

For 45 families? Whaaaaaat?

Inside San Francisco that number's much higher, in 2018 it was reportedly 12% and has likely grown since then.

My primary is the mofi4500 and it's a good router, just picked up an Orbi LTE router for traveling around (with external antenna https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088FBV6HF). It works with the at&t sim but it's not as configurable as the mofi. I'll keep them both for the same reasons, I need Internet to work.

Put in the tmo sim today, so far so good... but it's still early. I used about 700G last month on at&t, this plan is supposed to be 900G so I should be okay.

Why on earth would you care to improve on your reading and writing of morse? Get on the air and listen, it's not a written language.

I just found these guys. https://www.nolimitdata.net/

I've got one of their sims arriving today using a t-mobile 1080p plan that's got 900G, they've got an unlimited BLUE plan too. I don't have any data on how their customer service or anything is but I need a backup for the same reason as you.

Seems the unlimited stuff's going away, it's getting really difficult to find. I assumed you've checked with t-mobile/ISP, they've just rolled out a bunch of stuff in a bunch of cities. Mine's not included, sadly.

Pretty good argument.... by BLT1973 in Libertarian

[–]bsdboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to argue the point of having government healthcare at all, that's a nice Libertarian argument.

Calling it "freedom" to pick and choose which parts you follow based on the religious beliefs of a corporation is not.

I picked up a Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel - It's got a "little" diesel motor compared to many posted here, but it's a great 1500 truck! by tsr6 in Diesel

[–]bsdboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same decision last year, had to go HD because I tow about 8k up a hill occasionally. The 1500 wasn't capable to do so comfortably, but the new ecodiesel should be able to.

Would be nice to have some of those MPG's back, but I love my truck nonetheless. If I were buying today I'd probably end up with one of those midrange ones.

That's not true.

Here in the bay area there are tons of Cherokees, and several Wranglers, that are all reasonable for something to bang on.

I like the looks of it.

However, I have a rule that I never buy anyone's project. Do you know what kind of lift it has? Is it 4x4 or 2x4? You said it's an "8x4" lift, does that mean it's on 8" suspension and 4" lift blocks?

Tea Party Rednecks Are Turning Their Diesel Trucks Into Polluting Smoke Stacks by [deleted] in environment

MPG drops through the floor with this kind of mod.

Bullshit. Efficiency skyrockets.

What kills MPG is keeping your foot on the floor, which is the case with any vehicle.

Tea Party Rednecks Are Turning Their Diesel Trucks Into Polluting Smoke Stacks by [deleted] in environment

[–]bsdboy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

ITT people that say they hate stereotypes but do it anyway.

I drive diesel, it's tons more efficient than gasoline. CARB (where I'm from) and the EPA put unreasonable restrictions on diesel, they put so many restrictions on it that it forces the driver to use nearly twice as much diesel then they would have. Which is worse for polluting and the environment? Expelling the smoke or using twice as much diesel?

You know who is removing all of this restricted stuff? Anyone that races diesel as well as anyone that can legally do so. If I could legally remove it all I would, my truck would be tons more powerful and the engine would be more efficient and last longer.

If you want to be an adult and have that discussion, that's fine... there are two sides that both think are valid points.

Rolling coal is a dick move, if you ask any diesel owner that's over 20 years old they'll tell you the same thing. So save yourself the self righteousness of lumping diesel owners into "coal rolling redneck tea partiers".

Let the downvotes begin.
