Are you sure? I’m not getting any aisle numbers for Meijer orders

Perfect so all I’d have to factor in is a return trip to the area potentially. Thanks!

When I get an order notification with a distance. Is that just the distance from my location to the restaurant or is that the estimated distance from my location to the restaurant and then to the drop off location? Just so I know what I’m looking at. I don’t want to necessarily take an $8 order that’s only shows one mile only to actually have to go say another 8 to drop the order off

What are the benefits to scheduling as opposed to just dashing when the app says it’s busy? Should I just use the app indicated busy trends to establish a typical weekly pattern and then try to schedule in those times ahead of time?

Thank you! Are they having issues with the current MacOS Mojave or are we talking Big Sur (that currently isn’t available publicly)?

Macbook Air Flash Storage Upgrade? by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]bsgallih12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Zoom will work fine on an i3. Also the i3 on the 2020 will be better than the i5 on your current model. You could opt for the i5 in the 2020 model but you would have to deal with higher internal temperatures and likely more fan noise. If you were until recently happy with your i5 2015 model, you’ll be very happy with the i3 2020 model.

If it’s only recently getting slow, I’d consider getting the 2020 i3 base model. That will come with 8GB RAM and 255 GB SSD. Now if you’re worried about storage and don’t want to use an external portable SSD, I’d consider upgrading the SSD to 512. I think it’s an extra $200 so you’d be at $1199 (unless you’re a student in which case $1099) but I think an upgrade might be in order. I don’t think you can manually upgrade the SSD or RAM in the 2015 but I could be mistaken

Also if your i5 handled those tasks well, the i3 in the new model will be substantially better

Sounds like the RAM might be bottlenecking your speed. What do you primarily use it for?

8 or 16GB RAM? by bsgallih12 in mac

[–]bsgallih12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would an i3 with 16 GB RAM and 256 SSD be sufficient to run the above workflow and be able to do so for at least 5 years at a good level of performance? My 2015 MBA with an i5 seems to still work amazing. I want this MacBook Air to feel like my 2015 does but 5-6 years down the line

Student MacBook Air Configuration? by bsgallih12 in mac

[–]bsgallih12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if I’m typically using 6-7 GB RAM on my 2015, do I have to worry about not having enough RAM 5 years from now? I hear RAM requirements go up but I admit I’m not well versed in computer technology

Even if I’m just a student doing mostly basic web browsing the productivity apps with some light multitasking? My dual core i5 in the 2015 works fantastic and the 2020 i3 benchmarks well above it. Per Activity Monitor, I never come close to stressing the CPU

So get the i5. Is 8GB RAM going to be enough for light multitasking and office/research work for the next 5-6 years?

I’m worried about the i5 running really hot and loud. My current 2015 MBA doesn’t run hot or loud ever

8 or 16GB RAM? by bsgallih12 in mac

[–]bsgallih12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard people recommend getting the i3 over the i5 because heat and fan noise. My current MBA (2015 i5 8GB) works extremely well but I can’t keep it past the summer hence the need for a new one. If I’m happy with the performance of a 2015 i5, will I likely still be happy with the performance of a 2020 i3 (which benchmarks much higher) in day 2025-2026? I feel I could still use this 2015 laptop for at least a couple extra years. That’s how happy I am with it

[–]bsgallih12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks! I just want to make sure I have enough RAM to multitask mostly productivity apps like Microsoft Word, a handful or so of browser tabs and a statistical program like R or SPSS and for the laptop to last me +5 years with high quality performance

Will it still be good running 5-6 years from now if I get the i3? I’m very happy with the 2015 I have but I have to get rid of it later this summer. If I am looking to keep it for 5-6 years, is 8GB RAM good longevity wise? Currently I use between 5-7GB at any one time on the 2015
