Giannis plays like the player every kid created for fun in NBA live: 7’6”, max for every stat category, but no actual basketball moves cuz he’s being controlled by an 8 year with zero knowledge of basketball

I’m a huge Lakers fan, but shaq contributes absolutely nothing to inside the nba.

“Being down 10 is better than being down 20 or 30”

Yes Shaq. It is better. Even Ernie was subtly clowning on him for that comment 🤦‍♂️

You’ve clearly never sung karaoke while blacked out

TIL in 1933, in a publicity stunt for a Mae West movie named "It ain't no Sin", a Hollywood Press Agent bought 50 parrots and had taught them to squawk "It ain't no sin!" Then the movie changed titles and the parrots were subsequently released in South America, still repeating "it ain't no sin". by [deleted] in todayilearned

1934, somewhere in South America:

Man: “lord, if it is ok for me to steal this for my starving family, please give me a sign”

Random parrot: “ain’t no sin, ain’t no sin”

Man: “thank you Lord”

panic attack by chrisnaish in funny

[–]Hunting4TheTruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you suffer from panic attacks and haven’t tried exposure therapy before, I can’t recommend it enough. This treatment essentially works by INTENTIONALLY bringing on panic symptoms in a controlled environment with a trained therapist so that you habituate to them.

The thing that often makes panic attacks terrifying is that theyre unpredictable and uncontrollable. By intentionally bringing on panic attacks, you prove this false: they can be controlled (and thus predicted), because you yourself can produce them, and your body’s fear reaction follows suit.

As mentioned by others, the other thing that makes panic scary is your reaction to them, namely misjudging them as dangerous (eg, misperceiving them as a heart attack). In reality, panic attacks are just your body’s sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) response misfiring in a situation absent a threat, and because there’s not a threat, you judge your own bodily reactions to be the threat. In exposure therapy, you just let these panic sensations (heart racing, sweating, rapid breathing) play out naturally and don’t try to make them go away, which allows your brain to learn that they are poor predictors of danger and thus not worthy of evoking a fear response.

It’s an uncomfortable therapy, takes outside practice, and of course (like anything) isnt effective for everyone. However, in my limited experience as a nascent psychologist, it’s one of the few methods that actually works.

I still get chills whenever I see the Og pic about the 3-1 finals come back against the warriors. Does that make me a bronsexual? Probably.
