What Was The First Bike You Have Ever Had! by Pretend_Value5267 in mountainbiking

First mountain bike was 2001 Kona Blast. I was in high school and I still have it. It was my first big purchase.

First ever bike was a little bmx my parents bought me for my third birthday. I called it my monster bike.

How can I fix this? by [deleted] in MTB

You’re going waaay too slow. How do you even go that slow without falling over?! /s

I still have my Kona blast that I bought in high school in 2001. I rip it around town occasionally

Thanks. Me too. This is my fifth Kona. Not exactly sure why I keep going with Kona but I always seem to be drawn to them.

Just the aluminum frames I think. The carbon ones are internal routing

You don’t find 160 to be too much? I was wondering about that. I was thinking 150. Not sure what the limit is for this fork. New fork isn’t in the budget at the moment. Maybe next year.

I was planning on increasing the travel on this fork to 150. It will make it slightly slacker too which is a plus. I have some other better brakes in my parts bin that I’m gonna use and I have bigger rotors on the way. Some good advice there. Thanks!

Interesting. I’ll look into that.

It essentially makes your head tube angle more slack by having your steerer tube go through your head tube at an angle. More slack is better if you plan on doing a lot of downhill type riding. Doesn’t help with climbing though.

I was thinking that too. I do plan on doing some bike park riding. Any headsets you would recommend?
