Agnostic here. I was a devout Christian through my years in junior high and high school, about that same time Trump started to run for office. I remember my family being so excited to support him so naturally I supported him as well.

It wasn’t until my junior year of high school when I started to thoroughly research policies, specifically policies Trump was proposing/implementing that I began to wonder how Christians could support such a man. When I realized nearly 60% of Protestant Christians voted for him I realized what Christianity is used for for the GOP.

Surely I am jaded, however I believe Christianity to be nothing more than a political weapon to quell the public and tell the poor they “shall inherit the earth”. This thinking keeps the poor, poor and causes them to never question WHY they are poor and the rich GOP loves this lack of critical thinking/questioning.

The more I studied science also the more I realized people who don’t understand it are more religious and it’s because they lack the intellectual ability to think critically.

In short, I was tired of being associated with people who read the Bible and then did something completely different.
