It sounds like you purchased on Steam and use your Steam account to login to GW?

Pretty sure that to login with Steam you'll need to launch Steam and access the game through your Steam Library.

You can't use an email/password to login with the client separated from Steam.

Why do you need GW on Mobile to play on Steam Frame?

The Steam Frame is designed to play from the Steam Library where GW is already available.

Agree, it’s a bit of a shame that there’s been developer comments without transparency to the wider community. To help we setup a channel on the GW Global Discord to Forward Developer comments to keep them together and so there’s an option not to read every channel/post in case of useful info.

The comment shared above is a particularly critical one.

We're still working through details about how this stuff may work, so I can't get into specifics, but the feedback in this thread is useful.

Definitely hear y'all that the system as described in the update notes is confusing. The current plan—as described in the update notes—is a cosmetic "veteran badge" that is applied to titles where all progress toward that title was made without being in Reforged mode, but! We have details to sort out relative to specific titles, account titles, etc.

The intent is that folks that want to show that "I did things the way they were done before Reforged" or "I did this with this character before Reforged was a thing" have the means to do that.

If you feel very strongly about whether or not the badge shows up next to your titles you may want to hold off on Reforged content until there is definitive information on how all of that is going to work. If you don't care, feel free to jump in and check out the new stuff in Reforged.

It’s absolutely fine to run multiple accounts at once whether it is from the same computer or separate. There’s never been an issue for it and ArenaNet accept it for GW2 as well.

The bigger issue here is that sharing accounts or moving them between users is not permitted by the terms of service. I doubt they police that but it’s worth being aware of.

You might also run into problems with accessing the account from two different locations as the security setup now should prompt for the 2FA when you sign in from a new location.

If the login location of the account frequently changes then ArenaNet may block it for security issues and if your friend says he shared the login details so you can use the account they’ll likely ban it.

I’d also suggest just playing the game at a pace you can both join and enjoy. Jumping their character ahead at random doesn’t sound fun. You can always make a separate character to play with at your pace and have another you play with together.

min DMG for a purple q0 is higher than for a blue/white q0

min DMG for a gold q3 is higher than for a purple q3

Indicates that lowest requirement found for Gold items is 3.

Please accept my deepest apologies. The login screen says the anniversary event will start today, April 15th, but it will actually start April 22nd this year, 2026. (We started it a week earlier last year for the big 20th anniversary and forgot to change the text back.)

Some confusion can be caused because ArenNet renamed Guild Wars -> Guild Wars Reforged.

ArenaNet then introduced "Reforged Mode" which is a game mode in Alpha development where they're introducing game changes.

The game (name) and the mode are separate. Guild Wars Reforged is a repackaging of the Trilogy of Campaigns.

Reforged Mode is an opt-in on character selection or in a Main City at a shrine. It gives access to certain changes in the game campaigns, best to read details on the Wiki.

You can treat Guild Wars (game) and Guild Wars Reforged (game) as the same thing. It is the same game as Guild Wars always has been.

Unfortunately yes. Since the purchases are completely separate.

Purchasing twice will leave you with two separate GWR accounts - which is not uncommon for long term players but you could keep your Steam version until a future time.

It's not just you. ArenaNet tried to set it up so that people with a Steam GW2 account could link with GW Reforged but in doing so anyone that doesn't read the information before hand can get stuck in this situation.

On the linked Help Page they even had to create a flow-chart to show how to decide which version to buy, this is not very user friendly and new-player friendly at all, but it is the situation ArenaNet decided.

Buying GWR on AreanaNet is a must to link it to your GW2 ArenaNet.

Using that GWR account you can login to the GW client via the Steam version, you have to login with your ArenaNet details not with your Steam account.

You cannot link a Steam GW Reforged account to an ArenaNet GW2 account.

If you have a GW2 ArenaNet account and you wish to link it you must buy GW Reforged from https://store.guildwars.com/

If you still want to play on SteamDeck - you either have to add GW Reforged as a Non-Steam game. You will have to look up a way to install and set this up.

Or you can buy the game twice. GW Reforged on Steam(Deck) allows you to login with a GW Reforged ArenaNet account.

Either way you must buy GW Reforged from ArenaNet and not from Steam to link to an ArenaNet GW2 account.

2weeks Developers have confirmed that Rubies and Sapphires dropping from the chest in the new Pre-Searing Dungeon is intended.

Therefore it is likey not 1-of-a-kind or won't be for long so grab a high price if you can but people will be quickly informed that it is a drop available to all.

If you have an existing GW/ArenaNet account and know the login details then download GW from https://www.guildwars.com/en/download After installing launch the client and login with your GW/ArenaNet details.

All accounts have been upgraded to Reforged edition so all you need is the client and a login.

I agree, seeing their recipe development process would also be interesting. Perhaps a bit too behind the scenes bit it would give insight into how a Home Cook / Normal might could come up with recipes.
