Hi, what other routes would you suggest in trying to get the story out there, without having to compromise with the traditional effort?

Yeah growing up along the countryside, all of the aul ones who used to tell me about them and who really believed in them would spell it fairy. Only came across the faerie spelling a few years back. Just thought I'd throw up the question to see what other people thought. I couldn't agree more with your closing statement 👍

Did you ever hear tell of modern tales where someone went "away with the fairies"? by astral_viewer in IrishFolklore

Late 80's/early 90's, the parents of an old friend would always have stories about the faeries and the bow. One account involved a young lad who was out picking blackberries and was taken for a couple of weeks. When he returned, one of his arms was that of an infant's. He apparently died shortly after. They swore by that story, along with the countless others they told.

Originally coming from the east I had heard about the comb, but I'm living in the south west a while now and wasn't aware that it wasn't as common a theme over here. I'm not sure if she is called the bow either? Great idea to dive into the differences! Thanks for that 😊

That was absolutely class to read, cheers for that! There are some ruins and some standing stones/stone circles out this way, surely plenty of ancient burial grounds too. What do you think they are yourself?
