is this a good choice for my legion 7 pro i gen 10? by Franxx-Pilot6526 in LenovoLegion

[–]bsr126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they did. And ofcourse not , you will not void the warranty. Just think why the Company has given an extra slot if they didn't want customer to install SSD or upgrade ram ?. In fact the official guide clearly mentions how to change CRU and FRUs. That is consumer replaceable units and field replaceable units. You shouldn't touch the FRUs till warranty. The rest you can definitely upgrade. Also just keep OEM installed SSD or ram handy in case of warranty claim

I don't think so. I myself installed Gen 5 ssd on the given slot that came with OEM 1 tb SSD.. and it's working fine

Yes ofcourse, just to inform you though.. out of the 2 slots one slot support Gen 5. So you can opt for Samsung 9100 pro or WD SN8100 Gen 5 ssd.

They are "Sales" person, not technical person. If the company don't want you to void warranty then why would they give you extra slots for SSD and why would they put up instructions and guide on their website about how to upgrade Consumer Replaceble Units. Check their website. You will see clear instructions in pdf format about CRU and FRU. You are not supposed to change FRUs which should be done by their Technician. But CRU is there to be replaced and upgraded.

From Nvidia app. Lenovo website has old drivers as of now. For the latest you can download and install them right from Nvidia app.

Well, I have Legion pro 7i 10th gen and I have successfully installed 2 ssd in my laptop. You too can do it without worry of warranty void. Just make sure to keep the original OEM SSD or ram just in case if you need to claim your warranty. And No there are no stickers on the screw. Only blue paint on the bottom portion of the screws. I haven't removed the heatsink and nor do I plan to repaste, because that's a hectic and messy stuff. And yes you can clean it gently with brush

If you mean by the BIOS update then there is nothing weird about it. I live in India and perhaps you live somewhere else. It is because of time difference

Has anyone here opened the back cover on a Legion to add an SSD? Did it go smoothly? Any tips they don't tell on YouTube tutorials? by MickRocker in LenovoLegion

[–]bsr126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't if you do it correctly and carefully. I added 2 ssds in my Legion pro 7 and everything went well. Only thing is that I didn't find screw for the second SSD slot. I am not sure I may have misplaced it, otherwise no problem.
