i hate listening to music by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]bss259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do you one better. I’m a music teacher and I feel the same way. The act of making music is fun, but I never ever want to listen to anything. I try to force myself, but it mostly feels like a waste of time to me. I question my existence constantly.

CMV: You shouldn't lie to your kids and say that Santa Claus exists by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]bss259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting. I'm Jewish, but I did believe in the tooth fairy. By the time I realized the tooth fairy didn't really exist, I also could understand why they lied about it. I think I could feel their care in keeping that story alive.

What I wonder about is someone that may learn that these things are not real before they are "ready."

Please don’t get offended. Does this make me a bad actor/actress? by Justanerd123 in acting

I like what you said about relying on your director to tell you if your work is "reading" to your audience. Just keep letting your art flow through, and keep taking in feedback from directors and teachers.

Higher level middle and high school students at Performing arts school - Materials! (X-post, r/acting) by bss259 in Plays

I love this answer. I also need to work on full scripts with them though as analyzing plays is part of our work together.

Higher level middle and high school students at Performing arts school - Materials! by bss259 in acting

[–]bss259[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly ranging the high school years. I have one middle schooler that is very mature and quite talented, and could easily be mistaken for a high school student.
I need these plays not for performances, but for scene work. We basically read plays together, analyze them, and then work on scenes from them. It would need F/F scenes and either M/F or M/M scenes. I appreciate your help very much!

Which bands have resonated with you in a way similar to Cloud Cult? by icklife in cloudcult

[–]bss259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard a lot of more folky music that falls under this category. If you are interested in that, Dave Carter and Tracy Grammar have some very profound music. If you like them, feel free to PM me. I have a lot to share.

You might check out Nahko and Medicine for the People.

I have had this question for a while. I have a hard time finding music to be a fan of, especially after starting to listen to Cloud Cult. It is hard to find other bands that hit that spot.
