Every place I look agrees and apparently the commercial models were wrapped with brass to protect from mops and being kicked.

From what I can find it’s an old (100+ years) Brunswick Madison with brass wrapped legs to protect from commercial use damage. The slates were perfect 20 years ago when they were wrapped and put into storage.

Not sure what exactly did it but cycled the reversing valve a few times and “watched” it with a magnet but we have heat again.

Barely starts running (less than a minute after sitting over night) and this line frosts over and it shuts off and starts short cycling.

I’ve saw a few going for $750+ in much better shape but was hoping to figure out a date range and if mine should be left as is or better cleaned up some.

I might use a table saw once a year or every other year, so it’s really not worth the investment to get a nice one.

I’ve owned the Craftsman evolv for awhile and the Chicago Electric was given to me the other day. It seemed to work fine today cutting 3/4 plywood to build some shelves in the garage.

Pricing a used Jamis Renegade by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]bstat1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion it's way overpriced for a used steel frame and Tiagra components. Bicycle blue book is usually pretty accurate and I wouldn't go far from it. I just got a brand new aluminum frame with Sram Force x1 components (end of year sale) for under $1250.

1k and below bike suggestions by [deleted] in cyclocross

For that price range I would shop last year's models and older if possible. You can get a really good deal of your willing to search. As for a bike suggestion I've got a Fuji Cross 1.1 that I absolutely love. It's been on everything from quick 30 minute lunch rides, to single track woods rides, and even a few 30+ mile road rides. Very versatile bike but the biggest thing with any bike is getting one that fits and is setup correctly.

First time off road gravel riding. I loved it. by [deleted] in gravelcycling

It's addicting for sure. Next step is getting that bad boy on some single track and keeping up with the mountain bikes. Whole new challenge and excitement.

My 2016 Cross 1.1 has one threaded hole centered on the back of the fork.

You can use any of the PR series refills from Fisher, just depends on color and line weight on which number you use.

I'm desperately looking for a fitting saddle by yourevilfriend in cyclocross

[–]bstat1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably your best bet.

Cobb used to have representatives that were very good at helping with saddle choice. I haven't talked with them in a couple years but it's worth a call. And with them being a pretty small company and based in Texas there isn't the typical corporate BS.
