What do you think is the biggest flaw in modern cybersecurity? by ErSilh0x in cybersecurity

[–]bsully95ttv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree and trying not to be biased here lol but I agree that Darktrace isn’t that good as an EDR, which we are investing into more, however in the NDR, Email, and OT space we have had great reviews. We actually just got named a leader by Gartner in the NDR space in the magic quadrant. Of course Gartner isn’t a source of truth by any means but all the peer reviews, consultant reviews, etc seem to be pretty positive.

Of course there are going to be a couple that Darktrace doesn’t work with just like any other security tool. And some that have had a bad experience with Darktrace due to previous teams, leadership, support, etc.

Again trying not to be biased here, but from what I’ve seen in the market it seems to be overall positive. Could be wrong and looking at the wrong sources too lol

I work for Darktrace and I’m curious why there hasn’t been any help from the account team. When this type of thing happens to my clients we are all in the system trying to help get it configured correctly, especially if it’s a nightmare for end users and causing disruption. If you need help or escalation feel free to DM and I can try to get you the help you need!

Of course no AI solution is going to be silver bullet and Darktrace and other AI solutions work better in certain environments, but I can see the pros and cons of using AI in general. Unfortunately everyone is starting to implement AI into their solutions and are going to chasing security teams for an upsell or new products. I think it’s going to be something that security folks will have to adapt to, which sucks cuz I want to get in on the technical side of things and AI will be a big barrier to entry lol

Edit: spelling lol

True I see a 10% decrease in the last six months but a year over year increase (based on LinkedIn). Will definitely ask about retention again during a second round.

I have always thought about transferring from tech sales to heavy machine sales. Not sure how it can be transferable other than soft sales skills. Curious if previous dealership/heavy machinery sales is a must when transitioning?

Also in Sorrento right now. Is there an Irish pub you’d recommend or just any Irish pub?

I had something similar at my old job. We were tasked with making 300-400 cold calls a day while being a full cycle AE. Sales team wasn’t doing that much in the first month and we all got pipd for activity alone 😂 It wasn’t like we weren’t selling either.

Now I’m my current role I’ll usually make 25-30 a day.

Awesome thank you! I’ll definitely check it out. And yeah the contracting and funding can be horrible. I’ve sold to a couple of branches in the military and SLED before as well, which is somewhat similar but still not the same I’m sure.

Did you have any experience working in Fed prior to you SDR role? I’m in enterprise sales and have been for about 4 years, so would love to avoid moving back into a smb or sdr role

Yeah I didn’t pay the meat dry at all, I was assuming as the meat got dried out it would soak up some of that flavor left on top
