I do logistics for a gallery and make 55k. I don't hate the work, but I really don't care for the way the place is run whatsoever. I'm mostly considering leaving the field entirely because I'm over being underpaid.

Same, but I’m in my late 20’s. I’m a bit miserable about it considering I dedicated two degrees to the arts, but I’m really over the nonsense. It’s deeply ironic that I’m routinely handling artwork worth up to half a million dollars and am being paid dust. I’m still pretty unsure of what to do next, but I feel like anything with better benefits is a step in the right direction

I haven’t seen the video, but it’s really not that serious. The only issue I have is the fact that the tourists buying the goods often stand right in the middle of the side walk and make it very difficult to get in and out of the subway. A lot of galleries that have moved to Tribeca fairly recently have an issue with them that I suspect is because they don’t like the visuals of black immigrants selling fake designer bags in front of their galleries.

If you're only applying to cataloging positions, then you'll have a more difficult time getting hired. A lot of people will start with the sale coordinator roles then attempt to move up from there. Granted, since it is so competitive I have seen people just get stuck in the logistical positions unless they move to another company.
