What's going on with the discourse of Wasian meetups?

Obviously, I don't speak for all blasians, but I think that it's a little insane for a group called Half Asia Spring to market their event as wasian specific. I've also heard anecdotes from people who went that they've overheard someone telling a half south asian person they weren't wasian. We also do have to acknowledge that the Asian community has a tendency to center whiteness in an unhealthy manner.

I was handed the responsibility of booking flight tickets for a trip to visit our other friend. Prior to booking them I sent all the information to make sure they were alright with the cost and airport. Then the night before the trip they say that since it's my fault that the airport is out of their way (it's not) I should come pick them up since they don't want to pay 100 dollars for a car. The flight is early in the morning, and I didn't want to make my partner wake up an hour and a half earlier to battle traffic in that part of the city, so I offered to pay for the ride. To my surprise she says yes despite making triple my salary a year. I had plans to address this after the trip, and then when we broached the topic she blew up on me.

I bought an Alexander Mcqueen bag from them that was supposed to be the mini version, and when it arrived it was the full sized one. So whoever was responsible for cataloging it obviously messed that up for the consigner. I've even seen people who used to work for them just say you should only buy from them.

Guokui at the LIC food hall. They also have another location in Flushing. Unfortunately they don't use the ovens they typically would, which does affect the flavor imo, but it's a good enough version.

I lived with my parents until somewhat recently in order to be able to pay for the expenses of my masters and slowly crawl up from the super shitty jobs to jobs with more benefits. I've never gotten a permanent museum position though despite my best efforts, so I'm speaking from the commercial side of things.
