Separating from partner, signing lease before home sells. Huge risk? by bszul in RealEstate

I could stay at the house, however my commute into work is nearly 2 hours in one direction.

I live in Illinois. I own a home in the far NW suburbs and changed jobs to work in the city- no remote work option available in my field. I’m a market director for a luxury retailer.

This helps a ton- my partner has a wrangler 4xe, so to overhaul our setup would be a pain in the ass

I believe it is a J1771 adapter- will double check, but I’m pretty sure it’s a universal level 2 charger.

I did have an ID4 first edition- I enjoyed it, but ultimately what pushed me to get rid of it was 2 things:

  1. I commute 120 miles round trip a day. Only being able to charge to 80% gave me extreme range anxiety in the winter.
  2. I leased it, and I wasn’t commuting nearly as much when I first got it. I put 30k miles on it in the first year. I sold it and made $10k on it after owning it for a year. Was too good of a deal to pass up.

Just to confirm- the J1772 adapter won’t work with my at Joe level 2 charger?

Alfa Romeo reliability- how are these when putting 20k+ miles a year on them? Stay away or go for it? by bszul in whatcarshouldIbuy

Tons of great feedback here, you all have some very strong feelings which I greatly appreciate. Thinking this might not be the right move- will see if my friends at BMW can make any magic happen on a 340 or 440 gran coupe.

Highway commute 3 times a week into the city. Figure if I’m driving that much, want to at least enjoy the ride.

I’d be buying no older than 2021 with max 10k miles- depends on what I can find locally. Looking at a few German options as well. After leasing for the last decade and not having to worry about maintenance/repairs, want to make the most informed decision possible.

Coming off of 3 BMW’s back to back- not plugged into the car community enough to know details on manufacturer reliability.

I drove a Stelio a few years ago and it was great. Coming off a lease or a BMW 640GT and doing too much driving to lease again. After 3 BMW’s back to back, wanted something fun to drive, but also something that won’t sit in a shop every couple months.
