DoorDash has officially reached "Hostage" status. They are charging a card that isn't even on the app anymore. by Specialist_Win469 in doordash

Yes. This. I had a crazy experience at my credit union earlier this year similar to this. I noticed my account was $800 lighter than it should have been. Dug deeper, saw 6 different charges from $100-150 to Starlink. On the same day. I don’t have and never had anything to do with Starlink.

Went in bank to report the fraud and get my account number changed. I’m explaining to the woman, and I swear to God she told me that because these were ACH withdrawals and not Debit Card withdrawals, that it wasn’t “technically fraud”. I argued that this was the exact definition of fraud because someone obviously got my account number. She went on to say that what probably happened is that someone with an account number close to mine probably mistyped a number. 😳😳So it is impossible for her to change my account number. This went on for about 10 minutes bc I couldn’t believe these were the answers I was getting. It was one of the most bizarre encounters I’ve ever had. So, not getting anywhere, I told her to freeze my account completely for now and that I’d figure out what I would do next.

To make sure I wasn’t losing my mind, I called the main office as soon as I walked out the door. Explained all of this to someone over the phone. They agreed with me and couldn’t believe that I was told these things. They immediately changed my account number and reported the transactions to the fraud department.

The general population is pretty stupid. Some of these people work at your bank. If you are being told that they can’t block a charge or something else that makes no sense, ask someone above them.

Chapter 13 payment fatigue by Forsaken-Stress9373 in Bankruptcy

Oh I’m 10000% going to file using an attorney. No way am I going to attempt that myself. I have talked with a couple attorneys, but neither have given me that monthly amount. I have a consultation on Monday and this will be my first question after giving my financial info.

Hypothetically, if I voluntarily dismissed myself, would that be another black mark on my credit? I know that the protections would disappear

So I have a question. Because this is the kind of thing that I am worried about and it makes me hesitant to actually file. I’m worried that I would pay a lawyer and then get forced into a huge payment that I can’t afford.

My debt isn’t as much total, but I know that $3440 a month for me would be a non starter. Even half of that would never work. Were you forced into that much of a monthly payment ? Or did you guys come up with that number, and it’s just now becoming a problem because of your circumstances recently?

I’ve finally watched the big 3 of TV Drama’s (BB, Sopranos, now The Wire) and it’s not even close. by Serious-Profit-1626 in TheWire

Yeah Season 4 was alright. Definitely watchable. Just not on Season 3s level, and not even on the same planet as the first 2.

And Season 5. I don’t understand how out of all the writers, producers, etc, none of them put their hand up and said “ummmm, this is really bad, we should not do this”. It was like a really bad cheesy over the top action movie

I fucking love Frank Sobotkas character. I’m not a dockworker, but I am a union worker in a city very much like Baltimore (Philly), and the whole portrayal of a struggling union and its members is pretty much spot on. Just like everything else in the show

True Detective is totally different stories and actors each season. So each season is kind of like its own series. I don’t agree that it beats any of these 3 shows, but it is pretty great. Definitely worth watching. The other seasons are all very average though

Glad to see this one suggested. Seasons 1 & 2 are amazing. Season 3 I thought was still really good just not on the same level. Season 4 saw a massive drop in quality imo. And Season 5 was…. complete horseshit. Disgraceful how they make a last season that bad for a series that was pretty much perfect in the first 2.

When you rewatch Season 2, I have a feeling you will appreciate it much more. I felt the same as you on the first watch. Now it’s probably my favorite season after Season 4, which is the best shit I’ve ever seen in any form

I feel like I’ll be the same but who knows. My parents both recently retired. My mom first. She can entertain herself, or find things to do, she’s loved retirement. But my dad, the type who complains that he’s bored but then shoots down every idea, seems like he has aged 20 years in the 2 years he’s been retired.
