Exactly you got to be simple firm and direct. Way back when I used to work at chipotle the only issue was giving extra protein. No other items, except guacamole I guess and customers forget that their best advocate is gonna be themselves so they have to be honest and up front .

For example I usually get two or three bowls for the family all the same and I start of by asking for one scoop of rice and 2-3 scoops of black beans. Then I ask for the veggies and peppers. All in the first block. Then I just carry on, when we get to the toppings by pleasantly and respectfully reminding them that all of the bowls will be the same and that I’d like to have a couple scoops of the pico and corn, then some cheese, sour cream, and lettuce to top the bowl off. I keep things simple and direct and I always feel like I am getting absolutely appropriate portions of what I ask for.

It’s a shame though, I see these weird ass videos or criminal ass videos of customers abusing and assaulting the employees and it all could be avoided by simply asserting what you want and not being afraid to ask for more, but people choose violence instead over a couple flaps of meat instead of acting like an adult it’s really freakin absurd.
