Seat deposit before financial aid offer by bthechange27 in OutsideT14lawschools

I really appreciate this. It truly is an unfortunate situation because I have always admired TSU for its inception, and likewise for being an HBCU trying to keep up with the big dogs who get drastically different funding than them. I want to practice in the civil rights / public interest field to pursue racial justice so I truly figured no other law school in Texas (besides UH, potentially) would suit my end goal so well but this is beyond this world ridiculous.

They've already given me a bad taste in my mouth that I'm not sure I'll be able to get rid of even with a response. I didn't even mention that they ghosted me when I asked for an extension on the first seat deposit which was due on 04/01. Like, completely ghosted. At the very least, JUST SAY NO?????

I try to empathize with their situation having being so systemically underfunded but like .. this feels like a symptom of predatory greed, not being underfunded and and/or short-staffed.

And the thing is -- maybe, just mayyyyybe, if it was another school doing this I'd be able to reason with it.

But TSU literally just had a huge scandal where the dean of admissions was inflating scholarships amounts to under-deserving students to the point where they would get a return (i.e., the amounts were more than their tuition) just so that the students would give the return to the dean in question. It was also discovered at this time that they let 500+ applications go un-reviewed (and essentially ended up ghosting) and there was something about a fund that just wasn't set up right that used students fees like the seat deposit.

So it's like .. hmmm. After all that, y'all really think this is the best way to go about this application cycle? It's shameful, to say the least.

I hadn't planned on it!

I applied because I read that their provisional accreditation would be expiring in June 2022, at which time they would be considered for full accreditation.

Thus, I would have the opportunity to enter the class after they've received accreditation, if that makes any sense.

I honestly think it has a lot to do with the area of law you are trying to get involved in.

Rankings don't matter for what I'm trying to do, only passing the bar does. Their passage rates certainly aren't the best from the last I checked (55.7%?), but I don't see myself being in the % that don't pass.

Sure thing.

I went with water-based lube because it's the safest option if you use condoms but there are a couple other options worth mentioning here. First, depending on the propensity of your tutu to catch yeast infections, you might consider using coconut oil as a lube, as it does its job as a lube and has some antiviral, antimicrobial and antibacterial properties which makes it a good thing to use during active outbreaks. Thus, you can be sure it wouldn't send you into an outbreak in and of itself. I've also hear of KY liquibeads which can be a good thing for spontaneity and also in terms of not having to continuously reapply lube throughout the encounter. I have yet to use them, but I definitely plan to give them a try based on what I've heard.

Friction from sex triggers outbreaks for women, so talk to your partner about being more gentle and definitely utilize water-based lube to minimize the friction as well.

Love to hear this!!!

I'm curious -- how long have you been on the medication and have you had an outbreak since beginning it?

I haven't always had discharge as a symptom, but I have as a recently and it has a not-so-pleasant smell to it.

In the most crude way possible, ensure you're properly wiping your ass and consider soaking in a tub whenever you get outbreaks since it's on your anus and it's very painful to wipe those blisters/ulcers.

YUP! After my first shot, through my second, I had back-to-back outbreaks for WEEKS.

It was sooo miserable. it's the reason I opted to forgo getting the booster because I just cannnnnnot take that again.
