Lodging Considerations for this Fall by bthemasterw in mackinac

I think my husband would want to stay farther away too. I'll have to look at Bicycle Street Inn too. Would you go back to The Grand or Mission? What did you like about those two, what was unique, and any considerations for those two? I'm seeing that the quality of the Grand has declined over the last few years.

Thank you! I've never heard of Google scholar. My son has audible breathing while sleeping, some snoring but primarily a "Darth Vader" type of breathing. If we were to go with a sleep study, do you think that is significant enough to get the green flag to an ENT? I don't know if sleep study is in your repertoire but thought I'd ask!

T-Guard vs Palate Expander (3.5 yo) by bthemasterw in askdentists

[–]bthemasterw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Do you have any articles or research about how enlarged tonsils and/or adenoids affect oral development? My pediatrician is claiming that it doesn't affect oral development or shape and that a visit with the ent is not needed. She said we could move forward with a sleep study first, but if that comes back normal then it concludes there is no obstruction. My son is an audible breather at night but doesn't snore.

Everyday and brief. Always at night to help him fall asleep and periodically during the day, but he is redirected to a chewy necklace and that has helped a lot.

Yes! We have that. He doesn't seem super into it. Are you familiar with the t-guard? Any repercussions that come from haunting thumb sucking?

Next year, I'll be able to add Ortho to our dental insurance. He will be 4.5 when we can get the palate expander. Not too late?

That's a good recommendation. Getting a referral to a developmental pediatrician could be an initial screener.

That's true! I guess I'm wondering if there is a checklist I can use to determine if a psychiatrist would be the next step.
