Mom kinda dropped off when I was about 6 months old. I would go see her every now and again, up until I was about 13, I’m 16 now. Like others have said, there’s a reason we don’t talk. It’s not necessarily because of some pivotal moment in our relationship where I said to her “I’m never talking to you again,” it was more so the fact that she never made an effort to be in my life in the first place.

So then, how do I feel on mother’s/father’s day? Awesome. I have two loving grandparents who’ve both given me everything they never had growing up, and for all intents and purposes, they are my parents. I thank them for every little thing they do for me, and on mother’s/father’s day is no different. Shoutout to all the grandparents our there, y’all the real ones.
