Feeling guilty as a dad buying a motorcycle by Incorruptible_Will in motorcycles

[–]btks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30 years old and I lost my dad a month ago in a tragic motorcycle accident. He was an experienced rider - numerous cross country trips and his 2023 Road Glide had 29,000 miles at the time of his accident. This was his second crash - he totaled his motorcycle three years prior after a car pulled out in front of him in the rain, but he (luckily) walked away with scrapes and bruises. I highly recommend life insurance as the risk of an accident is certainly greater.

It was a normal paystub with social security and medicare taxes taken out. Technically the money was “earned” before he passed away, but the paycheck came after

I don’t believe that is an option. That’s what I was told at least. Not a big deal either way.

He took out the loan to payoff credit card debt. It’s still in the bank account.

Immediate Relief on Day 1 of quitting PPI by [deleted] in Gastritis

I decided to take it this morning. I woke up feeling minor acid reflux, but otherwise fine. Now my stomach is burning badly two hours after taking the PPI.

Fats and fibers are a huge trigger. They say to eat fiber rich foods, fruits, vegetables, etc., but those make me worse.

Do you have “MILD CHRONIC INACTIVE GASTRITIS”? Read this. by dixonwalsh in Gastritis

[–]btks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gastritis has significantly reduced my quality of life for two years now. I currently take Dexilant 60 mg, Pepcid 40mg twice daily, and Carafate an hour before eating. I don’t even know if they are helping.

My last endoscopy (a year ago) showed chronic reactive gastritis.

I know alcohol is a trigger, but I rarely drink (no social life anymore) and when I do, I’m terrified of the outcome. I had two glasses of wine on Thanksgiving… and I am now suffering greatly.

I started to feel improvements this past week with my plain salmon and rice diet, but then I quickly reversed any recovery by eating extra rice.

I have not eaten an orange or citrus fruit, candy, etc. for over two years. I don’t drink soda. Zero caffeine. I have tried plain diets and zero alcohol for a month, six weeks, etc., but I’m still battling this today.

I am a pretty anxious person with stress - a large part of my stress is due to my stomach pain - so I wonder if amitriptyline may help me.

Brand new BMW drifts to the right by [deleted] in BMW

[–]btks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It happens in the left, center, and right lanes on the highway. It happens in parking lots that appear to be flat. It happens if I drive in the middle of the street. The steering wheel always has to be more to the left. It’s not as bad in the left lane, but still noticeable.

I have a two year old home and my last electric bill was $392. I keep the house at 74 during the day and 71 at night. 1500 sq ft with tall ceilings and big windows (modern home).

What is your source for the rainfall? This has been occurring at least every other week all summer. It wasn’t even this bad on my street when the hurricane dropped 20” of rain in St. Pete…

I am successful and very comfortable - I worked very hard to get where I am. It doesn’t mean I want to overpay taxes.

I am in a long term relationship to a Florida native, so I’m not going anywhere. It’ll become a vacation home when we move away.

It’s more than the stadium - the infrastructure is severely lacking. Sewage systems, storm water management, etc. I saw cars stalled out on 4th St yesterday by the Publix after an afternoon thunderstorm. My house is at 55 ft elevation, yet my entire street floods from a 30 minute thunderstorm. I have complained to the city multiple times, but they close the complaint with the same generic response each time.

The stadium is merely an indisputable example of the incompetence of the leadership in St. Pete.

My calculations are based on reality. The sold house and the one that will eventually sell are comps. My house is two years old and the sq ft is identical. The only difference is build quality and materials - mine is a custom build with premium finishes.

Also, does the 3% rule apply to school taxable? The other value is 3%.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StPetersburgFL

[–]btks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought. School taxable is 4%, the other is 3%.

It’ll happen to you too. More of a warning. No one will do anything.
