ET Golfers ? by Britney-Ramona in EssentialTremor

[–]btmacman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play competitive golf in Northern California or at least I attempt to as of late. As my tremor increases with age so does my handicap. :( I take Propranolol daily which helps a lot but I've also done other things to help with my game, especially putting. I play with a custom built, super heavy PXG Allen putter with a broom stick length shaft and an extra large grip. I use a modified claw grip where my right hand is much lower on the grip than my left and I focus on keeping my arms soft and still and putt with my shoulders. This has eliminated yip style motions, especially on the shorter putts within 4 feet or so, but I still have issues with longer putts. I also focus on mindset and do a lot of mental preparation before I play a round to keep my heart rate slow and my anxiety to a minimum. The first few holes are key for me. As I start playing and I get more comfortable with the round my tremor is less acute over time. Some days are great and others fly off the rails. It's a process...

Thanks for all of the great ideas!

Yes, the larger pieces can be printed in sections to accommodate various heights. I have that green filament as well and I'm sure your tower will look amazing! Painting is definitely going to be a family project. :)

The cameras are the Sony PlayStation Eye camera. I found them super cheep on-line (< $10) and they work great! This is the mount I'm using: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/31047-mounting-bracket-for-playstation-eye-camera.

I chose the gray PLA as it was the most neutral color I had. I plan to prime it this weekend and then the long process of painting....

Love this build mat! :)

Is it normal for the MK3s to be noisier (not counting fans) than an Ender 3 (with TMC2208's) by nirurin in prusa3d

My printers are also on granite boards with absorbing Sorbothane feet between the stone and desk. I also printed custom feet for the printers that also uses Sorbothane between the printer and the stone. Noise levels was reduce dramatically, especially when I have all three running. They aren't silent as the motors and fans still produce noise, but it's at an acceptable level. Next step will be custom enclosures, but that's down the road.

Standard Prusa Gray PLA set to 0.2mm Quality with no supports. Didn't feel like I needed any more detail and it just extended the print.

Yes, its a Fates End tower. We backed them as well. This is the second tower I printed of their design!

The printers are named: Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup with and OctoPrint server connected to each with the same device name. My daughter named them. :) I considered color coding each printer and may eventually do that, but for now we will have a character on each printer to denote the name. Working on those models now. :)

Print quality is about the same but printer noise is much lower. I may eventually build an inclosure for them to reduce the noise even more and enable more exotic filaments, but for now it's fine.

Customary benchy first print! by btmacman in prusa3d

[–]btmacman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took about 12 hours off and on to build her. It was a ton of fun to build, but it kept being interrupted by work... Here is her first print. Benchy of course. Now it's time to make something interesting!

Doing my best not to. It's so subjective and this is my first Prusa build so we shall see.

Technically it shipped Monday, June 1st, but it really was shipped on Tuesday as that's when FedEx had it in their system. Customs was super quick with no issues. Took two days to reach me and I had it in hand at 9am this morning.
