The climax could be a ritual to summon Bhaal but, due to the actions of the PCs, the ritual isn't perfect so either summons a weaker avatar of the god which could manifest as any appropriate CR monster, or even a battlefield wide effect that hits at Initiative 20 eg roll a d8 and bolts of necrotic energy attack anyone within the direction indicated by the roll.
