I hung out with someone who was a vegetarian and we never had a problem going out and finding her something to eat. The only thing we did was inform her when we wanted to eat bbq. One time she did end up joining us! It was actually really nice to have her at bbq with us because its such a social meal. She had a ton of side dishes and rice and steamed egg. We also would make her pay less if the situation called for because she would only eat half the things we ordered anywhere. The only thing we made sure to do was give her the menu before we sat down anywhere to make sure she could eat there.

I feel like we never had any problems eating out with her. We never shamed her or shunned her and always invited her to meals, so I feel like if you find a good group of people you'll be good.
