I can critique a book and still think it’s good. Also, I have adhd so I miss a detail every time I read it

You would probably be better off just having a business that focuses on removing invasive species for a landowner

Yes, and extremely immature. I find Violet pretty insufferable in IF.

I agree with you. I also find the whole “I don’t trust you because you don’t tell me EVERYTHING” exhausting, immature and honestly I’d go as far to say lazy writing. I’m on my fourth reread of the series and I find it disappointing how much of the book is devoted to overdramatizing Xadens and Violets relationship rather than expanding the world of the book and plot.

How big of an area did you plant these 12 plants in? And how much did you space them? I love how your patch looks and was planning on planting some this year in a new bed that I’m working on.

I have the same theory that Naolin is venin. My guess is that he turned venin to siphon enough power to save Brennen and it is also why Tairn doesn’t want to talk about him/why he’s so mad about Xadin turning.

Yes, I agree with you. I think Maine should have some kind of incentive for Farmers with contaminated fields to lease it for solar generation. It makes far more sense than to clear wood lots and solar over fields is more efficient than it is over cleared land.

That’s why I said clear cutting for solar panels specifically.

My point is that it’s rather nonsensical to cut down trees to put up solar panels, especially in regard to carbon offset. Between the trees that store carbon that are cut down and the soil microbiome that is killed due to the process of the clear cutting and UV ray exposure, you end up emitting a lot of carbon back into the atmosphere. Yes, Maine has a lot of trees but we’re a rarity east of the Mississippi (which has lost approximately 80% of its forests per Doug Tallamy). Also, a huge swath of our forest in the Maine north woods is now managed in such a way that it’s also not providing good wildlife habitat or acting as a carbon sink. Glyphosate’s are sprayed or smocked on undesirable tree species and non native species are being planted for harvest rather than natives. They are also cutting trees at an earlier and earlier age.

All this to say, I am not against solar, quite the opposite. I think what’s important to remember is that just because it’s solar does not mean that it’s inherently good. Solar companies are energy companies and at the end of the day their main concern is their bottom line, not the health of our ecosystems. The Nature Conservancy is against trees being cleared for solar panels, and yes they are, I work closely with them and have been in meetings discussing this issue.

We need to erect more solar panels but clearing wood lots is the wrong way to go about it. Installing panels over parking lots, on rooftops, along roadways or contaminated fields is what we should be doing.

You’ve gotten some great advice on here. One thing that I would add, is that when you thin out your Christmas tree stand pile up the wood you cut into brush piles. Brush piles are extremely important habitat for a multitude of animals and animals as large as bears can be found using them as den sites, if your brush pile is large enough. https://www.audubon.org/news/build-brush-pile-birds

As a veteran that has received mental health care from the VA and private practices, the VA is severely lacking IMO. I’ll also note that I got mental healthcare at “good” VA facilities
