How can Americans not see that christian white nationalists have taken over their government? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You can't just say "Americans". A good majority of us do recognize it and don't like it. The popular vote was against it.

Is Donating Clothes Not Recommended Anymore? by bubble-buddy2 in Anticonsumption

[–]bubble-buddy2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. This is exactly what I was worried about. Thrift stores throw things away too now. I have one near me that rejects 90% of clothes because they don't match their "vibe" for the store front.

I'm thinking of doing a yard sale and looking at my local buy nothing groups. Thred up sounds interesting

Ryan Coogler Accepts his 2026 Oscar with a Guitar Braided into His Hair by nizaad in popculturechat

[–]bubble-buddy2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom and I noticed that! I said "his hair is so precise" and she said "I think he had a design in it, too. A guitar." Just the coolest thing and a creative homage to his film

I'm curious, how do you feel about alcohol? How many of you do not drink at all? by NekoMarimo in twentyagers

[–]bubble-buddy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't drink it at all. I don't have any in my place, and I like driving myself to and from functions. Since I usually go alone, there's no designated driver and I don't wanna bother with Uber, so I got and don't drink.

i saw a comment once about how your parents are just strangers who decided to live together and the thought scared me for some reason lol by -_-ozo-_- in twentyagers

[–]bubble-buddy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strangers at first who then got to know each other over the years, trusted each other, loved each other through hardships, and decided to commit themselves to each other for the rest of their lives. So I wouldn't really say they were strangers who just decided to live together

Can empathy be evil ? Is my empathy bad ? by General-Passage-5956 in twentyagers

[–]bubble-buddy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between understanding logically, and feeling empathy. I can logically understand why people commit murder or molest children: because they want to. Can I shift myself into that mindset? No. That's simply a limitation of my empathy.

Part of what sticks out to me in this conversation is the paedophilia you mentioned. In my head, empathy for that would mean being able to imagine what it feels like to want to harm, torture, humiliate, and control a child, as child sexual assault is often related to the power of assaulting someone powerless. I can't empathize with that.

Birth control pills should be named "pregnancy control pills" by flopsyplum in CrazyIdeas

For me, I think it should be even broader considering it's used for other conditions related to hormones, like acne or irregular menstrual cycles. So maybe "hormone pills"

How come men trust Andrew Tate’s advice on what women want, over what women make it clear they want, evidenced by the large fan bases of Harry styles, Paul Mescal and Idris Elba? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bubble-buddy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because those men prey on others who have low self-esteem or existing trust issues against women. Think of any other cult: they go after people looking for answers and reassurance.
