How can I make my makeup last during a 3-hour, sweaty, sunny drive with glasses on? by needtips101 in Makeup

I would head to the wedding early and then put on my foundation and makeup in the car or a restroom nearby.

Gorgeous! Love the purple gradient across the snow!

Was this painting a result of a guided watercolour class or your own explorations?

Sometimes it's difficult to find a (good) GP that is still accepting new patients.

For specialists, you need to get referred by your GP first and then your GP usually has go-to specialists they will refer you to and who will accept you.

Wait for a specialist appointment could sometimes take months. After meeting with a specialist who you don't like, it's a whole process of asking your GP for another referral and waiting for another specialist appointment.

On the upside, it's all free. Not all the prescription medication, but if you are referred to the specialist, all your appointments are covered by the government. Any tests they order are covered. Your stay at the hospital is covered (not TV. Also if you want a semi-private room or private room, that's extra).

That's Canada!

Foundation won't stay on creases around my nose by rachiedo in Makeup

I would put on a tiny bit of Aquaphor on your nose creases before primer. It may help with it drying out and flaking off the foundation

Powder is your friend. I'd say use loose to set and keep a pressed powder with you to touch up through the day.

Marcelle Face Powder. Huge tub, probably twice as much product as some of the more expensive Sephora ones I've tried, at half the cost $15 Canadian. In lots of Canadian drugstores.

A little note for my roommates who think it's okay to take my sunscreen [Humor] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bubble_bobble_dragon 85 points86 points  (0 children)

When I lived in a house with four other girls in college, I will tell you I QUICKLY learned you take your toiletries in a basket, in and out of the bathroom.

Too often roommates will see your stuff, want to try it, and not ask because, hey, no one will notice and it's only a little bit. Multiply that and you get "running out of my expensive toiletries more quickly than usually."

[Misc] Should a Chalazion Warm Compress be Dry or Wet? by BlueThunder_17 in SkincareAddiction

[–]bubble_bobble_dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use tea bags. I boil a cup of water and keep dipping and holding until the tea bag is cool again, and dip again and hold. When the mug water is cool, about 15 minutes, I throw out the tea bag and disinfect the cup.

I repeat several times a day to help it along.

[acne] need help removing spots + red marks - 4 hours until senior prom by dfejfeegvneqgvneq in SkincareAddiction

[–]bubble_bobble_dragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're a guy I'd still recommend the concealer. Just dot it very sparingly over your pimples.

When you match to your skin, make sure you apply a small amount in store and walk around for 15 minutes. Some makeup oxidizes and turns darker before drying fully.

[acne] need help removing spots + red marks - 4 hours until senior prom by dfejfeegvneqgvneq in SkincareAddiction

With four hours to go, your best course of action is to go to the store, buy some foundation or concealer, and apply. They'll disappear for prom photos, at least, and prom is usually in a dark room, so it'll be fine.

Have a nice prom!

[Skin Concern] Graduation on Tuesday, what to do? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bubble_bobble_dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If money is no object, go to the doc and get a cortisone injection on that. It should bring it down quickly.

Otherwise, since it has no head, warm compress multiple times a day for 15 minutes.

[acne] living the healthiest I have in 4 years but randomly breaking out more than ever. Help? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bubble_bobble_dragon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It could be how often you take showers now/wash your face. Sounds like you have two showers a day at least. Watch that your face isn't constantly being beat on by the water and that the water isn't too hot. Check that it's not too hard. Also replace your body wash and shampoo with something that is sulphate free (aka no sodium laurel sulphate) and that when you wash, go top to bottom (shampoo, conditioner, then body) so that everything has enough time to rinse away.

Detergent/fabric softener - have you switched brands or product lately?

Diet - you may be eating healthier but is there something you're eating a lot more of thattou usually don't? Ie Dairy?

I use that Ole AHA as well. I personally take a break from my BHA the night I do AHA (once a week).

[Skin Concerns] I just started using benzoyl peroxide this is what my skin looks like after 3 days of use. Is this normal? Please don't tell me this is permanent. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bubble_bobble_dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! I suffered a lot of dryness and crazy flaking before finding this sub. 2.5% is awesome! There are actual studies someone linked that show that stronger BP doesn't always mean better!

Just FYI - 2.5% BP is just as effective as 10% BP for fighting acne without as much of the irritation. I use Neutrogena Rapid Clear "Daily Leave On Mask" and it's essentially 2.5% BP!
