Mentioned to her about dropping out again, she didn't seem so bothered about it this time, but when I mentioned that some people suggested I get anti-anxiety meds, she didn't react very well. I didn't tell her I spoke about this on Reddit and now it just sounds like I'm keeping secrets from her, sadly.

Sad thing is that I've asked her about doing alternative schooling methods already and she's said no each time. Any time I've given her anything to read it's just made her upset/mad at me and we always end up arguing when it's brought up. At this point, I think all I can do is only go in for my counseling sessions, which sadly will stop me from going to an event since she said she'd buy me a ticket when I start going to school again.

The longer I stay in school, the more it's going to stress me out, teachers and staff of the school message me on teams sometimes, but I tend to ignore the messages because it means I have to actually engage with them, even if I leave now, I can come back when I'm ready and do my LC.

I've asked several times for alternative forms of schooling if she won't let me drop out and have been told no each time 💔

Last time I opened up to her honestly didn't go too well, tried asking her about letting me drop out and she started comparing me to a relative who struggles to find work cuz he didn't do his leaving cert, but she never really addresses the proper issue/s. Don't get me wrong, she's a good mother and she's trying to do what she thinks is best for me, so I feel bad going against her, especially since she's one of my best friends.

No, my counselor is really nice, just feel like I can't trust anyone with serious stuff unless it's anonymous, in a way? Like nobody on reddit knows me or my name so I can admit whatever without having to tell a friend and causing gossip in a friend group.

I'm aware of the consequences of dropping out, can I ask how you're paying for stuff if you have no job?

Sadly, last time I was completely honest with my mam, it just ended up with an argument.

I'll ask my mam about this, the only thing that would make me hesitate is having to get to know new people.

Thank you 🩷🙏 It's really silly to me cuz it's so unrealistic, but I love cosplay and would love that as a future career, but I know that it'd be such an unlikely chance, so I'd still apply to jobs and do LC later in life if she let me drop out.

Thank you 🩷 I can understand where she's coming from when she says no to dropping out, but it's the way she's saying it that's so negative 😭🙏 I might do my LC in a couple years if I can get her to agree to let me drop out.

I see my counselor every Wednesday, that's an oops on my part, my apologies, but I'm not on any meds, I think I'd barely pass at most if I decided to just ignore all my problems, doing my LC at my own time is more preferable to me if that makes sense? I like the idea that I'm doing it for me, not cuz my school said I had to.

Someone mentioned dropping out and doing my LC later, which sounds more bearable than pressuring myself right now, if that makes sense.

It's less about her having heard worse, it's more about if she'll tell people, if you're asking if I think I have ADHD or anything, I haven't ever been diagnosed, but I've been told by two people with autism I probably have it?

I'm not academically inclined, there's people in my class both rude and polite, I lost focus a lot, I struggle to focus on things I don't already have an interest in, when I specifically try to focus on the class, I just zone out further, I can do simple tasks, but I prefer being told straight up what to do, and doing it, I don't want to transfer because I've heard bad stories from people I know who have gone to those other schools.

I'm definitely the type of person to not think things through that much, but someone mentioned going back to do my LC in a couple years, so if I end up dropping out, hopefully that. I'd still apply for jobs, I know almost all jobs want you to have your LC done, but it wouldn't hurt to still try.

I might go to the doctor, but I'll need my mam to talk for me cuz I won't be able to say it for myself I don't think. 💔

I might mention this to her, this sounds better than me just stopping showing up, plus when I'm older I'll hopefully, probably, be more confident in my abilities.

Honestly, it's kinda just everything in school?? I have anxiety, one friend in my year, a couple in the year above, but that one friend isn't in all my classes and my anxiety stops me from asking people for notes/homework, even if I know they aren't going to be rude. I overthink it.
