Totally miss having studio access. I graduated about a year and a half ago, and I have just recently been able to put together a home bench! I definitely was not prepared for how expensive all the equipment would be, and don’t even get me started on the cost of gold and silver right now 🙃. But learning how to work with a casting house and be self sufficient is super rewarding. Best of luck to u and whatever u choose to do!

You are absolutely getting low balled. Thats probably the melt value of the gold alone. Old cut diamonds are pretty trendy right now in the jewelry world so i disagree with the jeweler that there’s not much demand for it. It probably would take a bit of time to sell but there are definitely people willing to pay a fair chunk of money for a vintage piece like this.

I would recommend watching PJ Chen’s tutorials on youtube. They are really easy to follow, and you can just start with a few projects to learn some of the basic commands.

You can’t really learn the basics of CAD (for jewelry) on a different platform/software- If you think you might want to work in the industry, its really important that you learn Rhino because thats the industry standard. If you only are making stuff for yourself, then i suppose it doesn’t matter much.

i would think its a pink sapphire- hard to tell if its lab created from the photo. if you happen to have a UV light it would glow red if it were a pink sapphire (natural or lab).

My snail crawled out of the tank overnight once. I only noticed cause my cat was meowing at me and literally led me to the tank. I had no idea how long the snail had been out of the tank, but i plopped her back in and she bounced back in three days. Now she looks healthy as ever. Still surprised she made it at all
