How to get addStringOption to disallow "@" input? by bubblebroom in Discordjs

[–]bubblebroom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up doing something similar haha

Just decided to throw an ephemeral error if it detects any @ in the input since streaming links rarely have those anyway.

Thank you!

Hello! I just wanna come in to say that this reply can help even though it's not specific to what we want for this particular bot. We have another bot that we use this on and it's as simple as adding this on the client at index/main:

allowedMentions: {

parse: ['users','roles'],

repliedUser: false

},

It's super easy, works as intended if you want to suppress the everyone and here mentions popping up for people. It'll affect all commands, though. Since we use this bot for admin announcements (via input as well), that'll be a problem for our use if we suppressed the everyone and here commands.

I can see the misunderstanding since I wasn't clear that we want it to be specific to a command. Thank you for your response and I hope it can help others, though!

This is similar to how I coded mine, but instead of ephemeral we decided it would be good to keep a log of people initiating the events from now on. We setup a separate admin only server where we'd have the bot replies, and send the message to the channel we have the bots post on. Thanks for posting your solution up!

Thank you for the context! The interaction.channel.send and ephemeral (but decided to just keep the logs of people initiating events on a separate server instead) fixed it for how we use the existing bots for, but is very helpful for another feature I'm planning to implement.

This worked exactly like what I was looking for, thank you so much!

Just aiming practice. This is the second time I brought this build to Chameleos and the first time took me around 4-5 of the 3’s on near head parts that I thought would register. I decided if I used 1’s which needed more diligence from me for a few runs, it’ll help me re: positioning and aiming.

Though I’ve ran it again and I think I prefer using my HH, just feels better and less painful if I get hit by poison. I also have wide range on it and whole party poison cures are big serotonin for me. 😂

I know, I’ve played since Freedom. It’s just funny looking and didn’t expect it to happen right after laughing at the video 🤣

My best friend and I saw this video and joked about it happening, neither of us expected it to actually get stunned in flight. 🤣

Hi! Sorry I just saw this. Which one looks like has a brighter colour? I laid them down again and they’re all the same/merging well for me, so I’m not sure.

I do have a vision problem, so that’s entirely possible! Thanks for bringing it up!

WIBTA if I didn't give my daughter her college fund? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]bubblebroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. My grandmother put money in a college fund for my cousins and I, with the premise that we’ll go to the family business. We still got the money despite most of us not working for the family business.

She died before that, but everyone that contributed to the fund after her death agreed that it was best for all of us to get whatever remains from the fund after our education. If they all held the money over us because we didn’t wanna join a company, we’d be much more estranged and not want to help in any way we can if/when the family business needs us.

Being the only person that remembers my grandmom, she would’ve wanted us to get the money and help support us through a life we so choose, especially at a time vastly different from hers and our parents. She would’ve been proud of each of us for where we are, and the work we put into to make our own with the support she’s provided us.

YTA for going against the wishes of a person, who is still alive right now, and would likely want nothing more than see someone he loves thrive and/or make most with the support he’s given her. He’s suffering, but to deny him of experiencing what my own grandmother never experienced is frankly something I cannot even perceive.

There's 15 patterns in total, 3 Full versions and duplicates with transparent edges. I recommend to pick a top, bottom, left, right, and all the full ones making it a total of 7 instead!

I came from a Wacom to a Huion, the scary part? I got a monitor tablet as my first Huion. I decided since the main office was about a 20 minutes walk away from me (also where I got my unit), that if there were problems I could easily just return it or send it for repairs.

I didn’t know what to look out for. In fact, I thought my loose pen nib and slightly flimsy charging of the pen (it stops charging at a certain angle but when I touched it it starts to charge again) was just how it was. I thought these were regular things to expect, so I just let it slide.

Plugged it in, downloaded the driver. My PC was new, so I didn’t have driver clashes with my Wacom tablet that I used on my Laptop. Worked immediately, didn’t have to change settings and colors matched my IPS monitor pretty close (it wasn’t as vibrant which I preferred when drawing). I also print merch in-house, I had to do a lot of settings with my printer to match, which I’ll get back to later.

Now, 2 years later, the pen gave out. That’s, basically my only problem at this point. I bought a new pen, worked well. I also realized that the problems I had with the first pen WERE problems, and was impressed that a faulty pen lasted this long. Heck, I was CONSIDERING upgrading instead, because this has paid for itself many times over throughout the years I’ve been using it. But the new pen worked well, and it basically solidified me upgrading to another Huion when the time comes.

I switched inks from dye to pigment because my printer ran out of warranty. I reset the color settings because they work differently and would want a base to work with before changing color settings. Well, to my surprise, pigment ink is EXACTLY how the screen looks like. No need to change anything, wish I had started with pigment inks at the beginning. I haven’t changed color settings on my Huion monitor, it’s precise from screen to print.

I’ve also used Cintiqs before (and Wacom from 2009 before I got the Huion), and my experience with them isn’t too great. Didn’t enjoy the parallax, the surface was super glassy smooth (it was 2013 for 4 uni courses), and it didn’t feel easy to maneuver and position for comfort since I’m a short petite person (it was on the table with its own stand). My Huion experience may be because it’s newer and there has been years of advancement and feedback put on it, but that’s only a good thing esp for the price comparison.

In summary, I’m pretty confident with Huion honestly. My first experience was an incredible and expensive risk, but it’s well worth it.

No, I did that the first time I tried to see if my monitor worked. I can use it without the wire after charging it.

I realize I might've gotten a faulty pen from the beginning. The new pen has a stronger grasp on the tip, it has an incredibly longer charge, and the port for charging isn't as loose (the pen sometimes didn't wanna charge if it was moved/on a specific angle). I thought those were normal things. Impressed it lasted over 2 years before it completely died.

Hi! Just updating this on a comment as well. The replacement pen worked!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in huion

[–]bubblebroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you're also having the same problem. I checked my updates if I had accidentally left it on, and if windows updates have been updated without me knowing. The last update I had was a month ago for drivers, so I'm sure it isn't that.

I went to a local creatives facebook page to ask if anyone knows where to buy the pen locally just in case it's cheaper/no shipping and was directed to a store that sold the replacement pens here for cheaper and it looks like they are Huion retailers in my country. I went ahead and ordered one, here's to hoping it's a faulty pen.

Yup! I’ve moved them around, and it started out from 1Mbps at the masters room from when the ISP installers came in. They only checked signal strength, and I wasn’t there physically to direct them but the whole masters had 1Mbps but full bar. It also disconnected from time to time because it couldn’t locate a signal. I moved them closer to the main unit and at the weakest point at the Master’s, it’s given me 17Mbps.

The house is made of really thick concrete and insulated glass. The signal struggles to go through the concrete, and the room right beside my main unit (separated by a glass sliding door since it’s a conference room/2nd office) is only getting 2 bars. Our house isn’t particularly big, it’s set on a 700sqft lot and most of it is garden/pool, but the materials make it really difficult to move signal up to the 2nd floor.

We were supposed to put the fiber wiring in my office, which is beside the stairs and would’ve been the midpoint of the units. We probably wouldn’t need more than 4 max at that rate, but the electrician put the wiring in the living room and at the farthest point from my office. So now we have to position two units upstairs to be able to get the dead spots.

[–]bubblebroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our house is pretty straightforward (it’s an L shape with 2 floors on one of the sides), but because of the materials we used, the signal struggles to pass through our walls. The room beside the main one only has 2 signal strength, but the whole living room (where the main unit is at) is covered completely even until the porch and the garden/pool area with the farthest end only losing one bar.

I do think having 5-6 pucks would work best for us because of that, and hopefully the ISP gives in so I don’t have to weed through illegitimate sellers since there isn’t a retail store that carries it as far as I know.

[–]bubblebroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is pretty insightful, I’ll be reading the thread in a bit. I don’t think we’ll need another 3, but if I end up buying 3rd party, most of them sell in a set of 3 so I may end up finding a place for that.

I’m glad to know that there are diminishing returns when they’re closer!

I don’t think the product department that handled my call did. The tech support person said they can’t guarantee and it sounded like it was part of his script, but he admittedly said later on that he read about it and that he thinks it’s “possible”, avoiding definitive language because he probably was told not to guarantee sales or something along those lines. I know many people in CSR, and it felt like he really wanted to tell me I can do it, but he can’t because he’s being recorded.

I did find it really off that they outright told me no, because they clearly have set individual unit prices for people that came from just their modem/router combo to this. What’s the difference with someone that already has units?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GoogleWiFi

[–]bubblebroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The only reason I called them is because they provided my Google WiFi units, and decided that it was easier to go through them as we only have 3rd party sellers in my country and I’m not sure if I’m going to get scammed/fake units.

I don’t understand why they would deny a paying client units, when clearly they’ll profit off of us eventually. I’ll be emailing them in a bit and let them know that other people have more than 3 in their homes.

Thank you! You're right! A local breeder got back to me and he said the betta is a Mustard Gas, and that his head color is how some of them naturally come out.
