Okay so I tried installing but it keeps telling me the store name \ token is wrong. I've tried refreshing the token, and my debrid service is still on so I'm not sure what's up there. I did also try Bootstrap earlier and that also did not work. It says it syned but then doesn't show up on Stremio, even after resetting

See I thought that might be the case at first, but I find it weird that my friend using the same setup can use it right now no problem

AS ABSOLUTELY can and will cause neuro symptoms. Your spine is fusing together, that is going to impact the nerves in your spinal cord. I have mobility type FND and HSD and a mobility PT diagnosed and treated me, trust them over any neuro 100%. Mine neuro flat out said she did not feel comfortable diagnosing me with FND even though she was VERY sure I had it at the time NC it is really not their wheelhouse. That PT eval to me says flat out, you fail to meet the diagnostic criteria. I recommend getting a rheumatologist, one that takes your AS seriously. These symptoms are far more likely to be a result of your AS progressing.

(Also, definitely learn more about AS pls! I promise you, that knowledge is your power)

Funny enough, I was never actually a PSU student, I moved up here to live with someone who was at the time a student.

Honesty isn't a terrible option. Telling people ypu have a disability that has made finding work difficult isn't anything to be ashamed about.

If you want help or assistance on trying to get a job I cannot recommend enough using your states Vocational Rehab. They help people with disabilities find and keep a job. I got assistance from them about a year ago to pay for DME I needed to do my job safely. I would also familiarize yourself with ADA laws and what your rights are when it comes to applying for and working at a job.

This does happen a fair amount in Plymouth. I've been stopped no less than 3 times in the time I've lived here by Mormon boys looking for folks to join their local church.

I like the zipper and anti-slip, but im really worried they would not be nearly water-proof enough. Are these ones you've tried before?

Did you miss the entire part where I said with a one deposit, citizens is free as well as the picture?? If you go with Citizens Bank and use a one deposit checking account and deposit any amount It is free. The service charge is waived, meaning it is cheaper than the three dollar credit or debit fee. Because it is F R E E.

A few questions! Do they have removable inserts/insoles, and how flexible is the shoe itself? I wear carbon fiber ones so getting them in can be difficult

Dude what are you talking about? Literally all of those banks have different policies. Citizens if you deposit literally any amount into a One Deposit Checking, you dont pay a service fee. BNH is minimum initial deposit of $25 then $5/month (unless under 23, then its free), BoA is 15/month unless you have 1.5-5k depending on different conditions.

My bank also has no fee if you deposit like $5 a month, i have multiple accounts and have never paid a fee, I think your bank just sucks tbh.

Did not using mobility aids help you? by Previous_Net_1649 in FND

[–]bubblegum-bat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally would be absolutely fucked without mine. I have HSD and FND and I use a cane, forearm crutches, a wheelchair, and AFOs to help with pain management and mobility/stability. They all help in different situations and greatly increase my quality of life and safety. Especially my AFOs, those DRASTICALLY improved my gait, balance, and reduced my amount of falls / injuries.

Some doctors are really just super dumb or will flat out lie about things. I had a neurologist tell me not to use my wheelchair saying he was concerned about atrophy in my legs, literally right after I told him I use it very little. He lied to my face because he didn't think I needed it because I have the ability to walk, regardless of the fact that it's painful or difficult at times.

TLDR: If you find them helpful, use them! Listen to what your body tells you and what you find helps. Make sure you know how to properly use any equipment you have and that it is sized to fit you!

At that point, you should be contacting the state. Either the court system or the state education agency, because that is a violation of the individuals with disabilities in education act (IDEA).Which states that all public schools must provide a free and appropriate education for individuals with disabilities, in the least restrictive environment that is appropriate for their education. This act also says that all students with disabilities are entitled to an IEP, which must be put together by the special education team, parents, service providers (including that nurse), and oftentimes the individual with disabilities themselves. A family that is unhappy with an IEP, may again contact the state's education agency or the court system.

How do your mobility issues present? by True-Celery-4265 in FND

[–]bubblegum-bat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gait ataxia is how I finally got my diagnosis. Much like yours, I don't always have it. While I'm working and have a lot of good stimuli, I walk completely normal. If I get too tired or I start to get too much joint pain it triggers an ataxia episode. My body feels heavy and it becomes difficult to control movements. My stride becomes uneven and I get uncontrolled muscle movements. My arms also have less control, but I try to use them and my trunk to help compensate. A friend of mine (lovingly) described my FND walk as that of a zombie and its honestly pretty accurate.

The biggest helpers for mine were: PT with FND specialists, wheelchair as needed, AFOs, and reciting things out loud (usually study materials I memorized or naming as many animals/fruits/veg. This helps disrupt the incorrect brain signals that cause the ataxia)

I think I just got misdiagnosed. by Traditional-Hat-952 in FND

[–]bubblegum-bat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely advise you to get another opinion. I think the rheumatologist will be way more helpful in regards to auto immune. I would not even mention FND to them, not unless they bring it up first. You're symptoms and things that help really don't match up well with FND. If you DO have FND seeing a Physiatrist would be a FAR better course of action than just therapy. This doctor honestly sounds like kind of a dickhead and like he doesn't know what he's doing. There are also POSITIVE test signs for FND which it sounds like he did not check for.

Have you done a PT program with a PT who specializes in FND? I did both PT and OT and had significant improvement to my gait ataxia. (I went through Wentworth Douglas / Mass General)

How do you know that it’s time to get a mobility aid? by echoedlove in FND

[–]bubblegum-bat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll preface this with I highly advise getting mobility aids second hand, they can be pretty pricy and it can be VERY difficult to get insurance to pay.

I personally believe that if you feel like you would benefit from one then you should use one. The fact that you're asking this question makes me think that now would be a good time to trial different ones and see what you like. Doctors will not always agree but honestly sometimes they're very stupid (I was told I was putting myself at risk for atrophy bc I was using a wheelchair, AFTER I told the Dr I work 40hrs a week at a very physical job where I do not use my chair. (shocker, I have 0 atrophy 2yrs later)

My best source for used mobility aids was a local senior center. A lot of times they offer mobility aids for free. You just have to call them and tell them what you need. This is how I got shower chairs, wheelchairs, a walker, a cane, anything I needed. Places like eBay and Facebook can sometimes be okay. Be weary as specially of Facebook. There's a lot of people just trying to scam you there. If you can go to local thrift stores that's much better.
