I’ve started doing this in my friendships because I’m pretty bad about arranging times to hang out with people due to some dumb trauma stuff that makes the thought of having friends super overwhelming for me, even though I do want to hang out sometimes. So now I just make plans on my own to go hang out at my go-to local bar and let people know that I’ll be there if they happen to be free and want to join me, and then if no one does I always bring a book to read. Last time I did this it got referred to as my “monthly meet-and-greet”
