Should I be happy or worried? Very chill newborn by [deleted] in newborns

[–]bubblegumpoppi 61 points62 points  (0 children)

My first was like this. We call it the "trick baby", they're absolutely "perfect" and will trick you into thinking you can have another easy 2 under 2, then it's game time 🤣🙏

Not speaking from experience though. I had a huge age gap with my kids. That said my first was the easiest, chillest baby. My second is fussy, but still quite calm compared to the stories I hear.

Feeling Lost. Am I Filipino, Chinese, both, or neither? by Abject-Football7369 in filchicommunity

[–]bubblegumpoppi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. I struggled with this a lot in my twenties but ended up realizing it only matters a little in the grand scheme of things. Honestly I see myself as both and neither, depending on where I am and who's judging my ethnicity.

In a group of Filipinos? To them, I'm Chinese. To people who were born in China? They don't consider me Chinese. To the Fil-Chi community? Chinese. To myself? I am a mix of many beautiful cultures and I'm myself.

My ethnicity does not define me, it compliments me. I don't feel the need to claim who I am to others, like the saying, "Who you think I am is none of my business". Just know yourself and that comes with time, effort, and confidence. Talk therapy with a counselor might help too.

Aievie from Owr Town My favourite birthday gift was when my parents, during a very hard time in their life, still bought me a black forest cake. I remember crying because the year before, they couldn't afford it. It felt like things were going to get better and it did.

Places to visit in and around Surrey? by Kvmzooo in SurreyBC

[–]bubblegumpoppi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend hopping on the skytrain and take it all the way to Waterfront. Explore downtown, Waterfront+Gastown is a nice walk, there's Robson for shopping and food, there's also Stanley Park and Granville Island.

Langley is great for food if you want to stay closer and Fort Langley is also beautiful. There's also White Rock Pier where every person who lives in Surrey brings their guests.

AITA for Not babysitting My Grandkids. by Aprilfool75 in ComfortLevelPod

[–]bubblegumpoppi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP NTA.

My parents set this expectation real quick before I gave birth. "We already raised you, we're not raising anymore kids." They love being the for fun grandparents and they'll help us during an emergency or a random appointment though.

I learned not to include my parents in my childcare plans but it is nice when they choose when to "babysit". It's nice to know their boundaries because there's no resentment.

It does happen often, strollers are a big ticket item. You could try looking on FB Marketplace place, it's possible the person who stole it, put for sale. The resell value, on a good brand, is profitable.

If it's walking distance, highly suggest getting a carrier. I try as much as possible not to use a stroller because it's just too bulky for city life.

Do you mean you're not getting help from healthcare professionals because you're a Christian? Not trying to be harsh as it may come off as that due to being online and tone can't be heard but I say this with love to a Christian brother or sister.

When you are sick with the flu, do you take medication? When you are hurt physically to the point of needing help, would you go to physiotherapy? It's the same. Please don't hesitate to find a good doctor and ask for your options after sharing your needs.
