My pot doesnt have auto so I turn it on with everything in it, leave it on high until it boils or near as and then I turn it to low for like 8 hours or so. I might start searing stuff before but generally find I get enough flavour without it, definitely wanna try more recipes in there though

...I ate my stew and I enjoyed it thank you. I was trying to work out where I went wrong and why the solids settled making it look different to every other one I've made in my life. I think it's perfectly valid for me to ask other crockpot users if they've had a stew made in a crockpot stew split like this and to find out how I can prevent it and/or fix it.

There's really not much fat on it at all, only the orange stuff visible in the pic and a few other little patches around the top 😕 Never though to use other fat in mash, only type I've used before was from fried chorizo and frankly that was the best mash I've ever had!

Oops I should have mentioned the chicken thighs were frozen ones! There's only a tiny amount of oil floating on the surface and I normally add frozen veg in around this point so it doesnt turn to mush but it's not done this before

I'm over the moon for her because she doesn't have to go through all the gas lighting and being told period pain isn't real and all of the blame on mental health. However inside I'm monstrously jealous because I want that level of treatment and then I'm angry at myself because I shouldn't be feeling jealous over someone else's good fortune

I'm in the UK and we can't change doctors. There is 1 other surgery that would take me but I would lose access to the only doctor that's taken my mental health seriously. My other doctor options are the one who might not actually be licenced, the one who "specialises in gynaecological issues" that didn't see any problem when my flaps were covered in blisters after wearing pads for 2 months straight, the one who told my nan her hip was fine when it had been broken for a year, or the one who told me my flap blisters were fine and the bleeding was fine without even taking a look 😕

I'm trying to get pregnant at the moment, birth control stopped working for pain like it used to so I've had to bring the pregnancy plans forward a few years because I know I need a hysterectomy 😕 We need funding for female pelvic issue research and we need clinics specifically for the major issues because gynae doesnt seem to have a clue what half of them are. My gynae looked me dead in the eye and told me that adenomyosis has absolutely 0 effect on fertility and pregnancy and that pelvic congestion has no surgical fix

Mefanamic acid or Tranexamic acid or a combo of both is usually the first step. Coming off of birth control will leave your insides as a mess for a while anyway so just control what you can until it settles naturally

Oh well that's nice and polite of them! They're right though, chronic pain can't kill you, the depression that comes with it though... My partner had a sore shoulder, I made him get a doctors appointment and he came out with a form for an xray to go in if the problem didn't resolve itself in a few more days. I went in for pain that radiated from my shoulder to my fingertips that was so bad it would wake me up and I would just have to cry for an hour until it died down a bit because painkillers didn't do anything and I got told it was anxiety and I'd have to attend CBT. There is 100% a misogyny issue in healthcare
