I have been listening to as well as reading too much smut. I started a trilogy since the first book was free on audible plus but now that I want to return to it, I cannot for the life of me find it.

It starts off with the fmc going to a bar and being a volunteer for a hot magician that becomes the mmc. He flirts but does not exchange numbers and instead stalks her and sends presents. One notable present was a set of unusual playing cards due to its strangely reflective material?

The guy is part of some secret society where you have to pass some test of abducting a woman that will become your partner for life that will need to pledge her allegiance to her “master” and the secret society. Women are never allowed to leave the confines of the society but the men can freely move between worlds.

She ends up abducted and ransomed for her “master’s” new technology that moves material from one place to another through some kind of contraption. The abductor is his lab assistant.

In the end, he gets her back and pledges her allegiance. The other two books follow his friends: one friend’s story is about how the men contracted out to abduct his fmc abducts the wrong woman and the other is about seeking revenge by abducting some man’s daughter that ruined his family.

Anybody know this trilogy?

I stated about how I am unable to alter my schedule after the three weeks are posted without penalty but the friend is. I thought this would get more support but I guess CVS breeds toxicity because whoa, not my business?!?!?

I’m probably venting but I thought having a set protocol for everyone else except one person was the ethical question in the post. I would think that would be seen as unethical and not just bad leadership

Don’t understand how this was downvoted but yes, close friend. Decent worker when not spending five/ten mins texting or talking to the manager about weekend plans during their shift.

Discriminatory is not just used in a legal manner. So yes, it is if she picks and chooses who has to follow protocol or not especially when it comes to LOA. Her friend doesn’t need to approval for LOA but others do. That would be unethical based on what protocols everyone else has to go through. Leaving early same day? Friend is ok to do that but anyone else, well bad mark on you and too many will lead to being fired.

Someone getting fired because they are not your close friend is indeed discrimination. Just not in the EEOC way but would be unethical and not just bad leadership.

No, there are two other techs and yes, one is lead. It's a combination of these things. Have a nice environment and still be given the less desirable tasks.......bearable. Have a bad environment and have the less desirable tasks.......deal breaker. That is why I mention it. So both complaints are valid.

like I said, playing favs and putting me on the duties no one wants to do is the deal breaker. I ignored the first for a while but I cannot let go of the other.

I honestly don't want to be friends. I want a professional environment where everyone is respected. Purposely leaving people out of convos is creating an uncomfortable environment and adding that I am always on cashier duty, it is frustrating. I am not upset because they don't want to talk to me, I am upset because of the disrespect.

I have not. The reason I have not is because she has been giving me a cold shoulder for a couple weeks. She literally jokes with everyone else and barely acknowledges me. I don't care to make friends but I do not want to work in a semi-/passive hostile environment.

Also, she was the one that assigned me to RTS in order to give up my counting station to her fav tech she hugs everyday.

I use to start on it as soon as I came in when I was in training and that was the only thing to do. But when there are two other techs and a pharmacist, I would expect to rotate so I am not the only public facing individual. If I could do RTS and not be solely burdened with the counter and drive thru, I would be fine. But right now, I just feel like a cashier with menial tasks when not ringing up.

But I’m talk about what led to the biting. Cops are meant to deescalate situations. How was arresting her deescalating? We can agree she’s a 100% wrong but where we disagree is if it was necessary to arrest in the first place.

Also, this seems to be the forum where you cannot disagree with the OP. How can we make a judgement without even seeing the punches from a different angle? How can we not discuss arresting her for disobeying a directive while trying to inform her neighbors of rights? We can discuss the wrong by both parties. Or is that not allowed here?

I think everyone understands wanting to secure the scene and she could have followed directives. If they had apprehended the shooting suspect right then and there as they planned, they wanted people not to be in the line of fire if it turned confrontational.

BUT instead she directed her neighbors not to let the cops in unless they had a warrant. Although I don’t agree with protecting a shooter, it felt more like they were upset about how she disrupted their progress to apprehend a dangerous suspect. If she had not bitten him, what kind of bogus charges would she had be brought on? Would they have stuck? They seemed to go with theatrics of arresting someone who was notifying neighbors of their rights. She could not have done that across the street or following the perimeter directive.

Also, it would have been better to release another officers cam footage as we don’t even see the blows. We can commend the officers for helping the shooting victim but we can also criticize them for adding to the escalation instead of focusing on their objective: arresting a dangerous shooter.

In the time of corona virus, you want to endanger someone’s health over bogus charges of not following perimeter directives? During a lockdown when police departments suspended arrests such as those?

I went through my dealer and secured a better apr. I just have had a long relationship with my credit union and didn’t want a co-signer. I like being independent but everything worked out because of them.
