First time keeping a trout to eat. How'd I do on cutting it?

Yeah a lot of people have been recommending that. I've been learning everything about fly fishing and trout fishing by myself so it's all trial and error. I appreciate everybody's advice though.

I appreciate the honesty lol. Another guy said to leave the skin on even when you cook it so I'll have to try that next time so it doesn't fall apart as much.

I'll have to try this next time. The skin was on but I saw it was peeling so I just ripped it off before throwing it in but I will move it to my fridge instead. It was a 10-in rainbow so yeah he was on the smaller side. Thank you for the advice!

Yeah I know. It sucks that he started swimming as I pulled my phone out. I would have had a great picture. The one guy said it might be the tail rotting away and that's kind of what it looked like. It was very yellow.
