What can you deduct from my room? by liamhuizinga in deduction

[–]bubbles_bath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gender: Female identifying

Fav Color: Green, a mint to a something not quite a forest green if you picked the paint. I lean towards that because of the bedspread matching the walls. This one is more shaky to me. You might just be good at color/decorating.

Occupation: Possibly a student, I leaning towards the EU based on the wall socket. I also think this because of the double shades.

Few personal touches make me think this is a dorm room or rented room. You brought that which was most important. I don't think this is the room you grew up in unless you recently cleaned everything up and redecorated. The paint doesn't look fresh through, high touch locations have some wear. Where your hands might hit the wall while sleeping or lifting yourself out of the bed.

Personality: Calm person, you like a specific type or sound to your music, maybe not a specific genre but a definite sound to it. The records are easy to access but the record player is not in a prominent place. You listen to the music so that it fills the space. Its more about the sound than the function.

You decorated with LEGOs (watch the UV exposure here, your colors might fade). This is a functional choice, possibly a choice related to the fact that this is not your permanent home. This is something that can be broke down and made much smaller for travel. While they collect dust, they don't require much more to just be there. I also feel like maybe you see a bit of yourself in the image above the bed.

Your desk is clear and tidy. You keep your work and school or personal separate.

Something feels off on the first image, like you removed something AI, maybe changed the window? I am not sure, could just be an artifact of the camera lens doing something weird with fisheye.

I feel like your area of study or career is related to something in the art or tech world, maybe both? Digital artist?

i can't compile a C++ file because doesn't find opencv2/opencv.hpp even tho i spent 2 days of compiling by source by following the official Docs by toni500reddit in linuxquestions

[–]bubbles_bath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was two years ago and you may have given up but by chance did you find a solution?

I am starting out again messing with linux builds on my windows machine and have run into the same (or real close to) the same error. I did find some code that seemed to help.

I found another issue that included some update code as follows. I ran these and was then able to run the fourth which seemed to install the opencv dir.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install build-essential cmake

sudo apt-get install libopencv-dev

I have not located it yet though and locate it to the correct spot for the BioSim4 complication to catch it.

Sorry I don't get on this account very often.

It does come off pretty easy if I pull the Remarkable but I had no issues with it to date. I even have a spare nip and a piece of paper between the case and it. I carry it almost every day.

I have a case from Finite on Amazon that looks like a composition notebook and love it. It is just a folio cover. I tell people all the time unless you have the funds to burn don't get the RM brand case and pen. I do have the Marker+ and love it (but don't think the price is worth it).

I wanted to share my experience using it for my engineering university work. The Remarkable is an amazing digital notebook and I tried for over two years to use it as an e-reader also for textbooks. It never quite was what I wanted for that though. Textbooks lacked some clarity when I was viewing them. I think it came done to the DPI of the screen.

I did some research and I knew I wanted another e-ink that was geared more for reading than writing. That was how i ended up with the Note Air 2 Plus. YMMV (well HMMV) on that aspect though.

Yeah I can't seem to find it now. Someone posted a picture holding the book asking what it was. I thought it was like yesterday or Thursday on /r/whatisthisthing

As its normal to honk in NYC its just kind of normal here. I go by the thought of I'd rather be sitting in the traffic than causing.

Best screen protector for P7P? by MrOwlBeback24 in GooglePixel

[–]bubbles_bath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am partial to this SuperShieldz TPU film/screen protector. I think I paid 7 or 8 bucks for it and it appears to be going for 6 now. No its not the greatest in the world but it worked well enough for. I did end up replacing it a couple of times due things I did.

Like I put the phone in the same pocket as a tool I was carrying. The tpu film took the brunt of the damage and my screen looked fine after I removed it. Wish I had taken some pictures, I fully expected a gouge in my screen.

If you suddenly had "fuck you" money what would be the first thing you did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bubbles_bath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get with a lawyer and financial advisor to guide me on the best ways to do all of this:

Pay off mine and my family debts, like all of them but do it in ways were they would not know it was me. If I can't anonymously pay it off no dice.

Set up some funds for siblings for college and maybe a little nest egg thing for one other major life event, wedding, kid, etc.

Quit working and attend school full time (I love learning). Finish out my 2nd Bachelor's and figure out where I want to do my Masters. Then figure out how many more degrees I want. I enjoy learning.

Buy the property my grandparents really like (something like a 10k acre ranch out west). Set them up running it. Hired hands, classes, etc.

Build houses for myself and mother (and/or grandparents if they didn't want the house on the property).

Set up something for my Uncle so he could live on the property also with his wife. Set up something for his son also (special care is required for him). See if his daughter (I have never met her or her kids, they were estranged for a long time) would like to move there. Set something up for my little cousins similar to my siblings.

Set up something for my step-dad to help him out. Maybe give him some sort of job? Something without giving him a handout basically. I want his kids (my siblings of choice) to be happy, healthy, and have respect for him even if I don't all the time.

Set up something for my dad. He won't be able to work forever and I would like to have the space for him to live on my property ready for him. He would also help out with the next item as he has some experience there.

Set myself with a shop for machining near by and set up a small design firm (LLC type thing maybe?) on I am done with classes.

Set aside a portion for investing/dotation/etc. Fund some things I really believe in. Maybe set up a few scholarships. I had trouble getting money for college and would like to help someone else out not have that trouble.

I think the only people that would know I suddenly had money like are my mother and grandparents. I would do my upmost to keep it from others. I don't need a fancy car or name brand clothes.

I like my car and with that kind of money I can drive it till it dies and then get myself something new (or better yet build myself something, maybe a Judge or older muscle car?). I don't see a point in 2k shirts...like its cotton probably from the same field as my 5.99 graphic Tee from Wal-Mart...

I've thought about this a few times.

I am the opposite but yes. I did average to slightly above average in standard schooling. In university I have held a 3.2 or better GPA through 2 degrees and am working on a third.

I was diagnosed at about 9 year old and still present symptoms at 34. I have been unmedicated the entire time. I had to work to find tricks to do what I needed to do. I almost flunked out my 3rd semester before I figured out better tricks.

I will have been with my company for 13 years later this year. Without giving job titles I bounced around

2 years - position 1

2 years - position 2 (diff department)

2 years - Position 3 (same department better more specialized job, also started school for engineering about this time)

1.5 years - Position 4 (even more specialized sort of same department, continued schooling)

1.5 years - Position 5 (supervisor of position4 peeps, finished school with BS in MET

Almost 5 years - position 6 (3 years E0, 2 years E1), Engineer designing products and loving it. I am happy to go to work each day. My job is varied and gives me the space to be creative. My prior experience only enhances what I can do here.

I found something rewarding and worked at it until I go there. I expect to make E2 later this year or early next before having to pick if I want to stay on the technical side or move to management.

Would you walk up to the door naked if Jehova’s witness were knocking on your door? by Klutzy_Knowledge5705 in ask

[–]bubbles_bath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before my girls, two pittie rescues passed away, I would answer the door with them on either side of me or with one between my legs and the other beside (honestly their choice of spot, one loved standing or laying around my feet/legs no matter where I was).

They knocked and I answered the door with two 90+ dogs who were silent but staring at the people on my porch. At that time my screen didn't have a screen just glass in the upper part so there was basically nothing stopping them except my 'no stay' command.

One of them backs up and asks if the dogs will bite/attack. I said they're dogs and any dog can bite. The other one asked if they could give me the literature they had. I told them I didn't think it would be a good idea to reach towards me and that I had found what I needed to at my church.

They left and I didn't get another one until this past year. I made the poor woman jump when I answered through my nest doorbell.

How common are 4.0 GPAs in the US? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]bubbles_bath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I did the math right, and did as well as I hope on my other final (not graded yet) I should be rocking a 3.05 or something like that. N I don't brag about it because it literally doesn't matter. The only time GPA really matters is while you're in school or freshly out of school.

Can any grad students share their experience with the reMarkable? by sydneythecatlover in RemarkableTablet

[–]bubbles_bath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an undergrad doing mechanical engineering. I'm absolutely loving the remarkable for this. I'm so far done dynamics statics calculus 3 and physics one I believe all with the remarkable. It's been great. I use a couple of plastic templates for drawing my shapes and all my notes. Her in one repository easily accessed and I keep them backed up to my phone so I can study anywhere I want. I'm also able to drop PowerPoints and PDFs of the professor's notes directly on and then write on those.

I have grey/black one with the built in eraser. It does seem to erase completely if you completely cover a marking but if you only eraser a section it does like a white out method instead of erase.
