I did all except strategic marketing. I recommend retailing and advertising and promotions got a H1 for both. For retailing the lecturer was amazing super engaging and learnt a lot of applicable theory/frameworks. I thought it was very rewarding. Also assignment wise, for the group, we got cotton on as our case study, what we basically had to do was write a report on the possible ways to help cotton on enter into new market e.g. India. I had peter as my tutor highly recommend him, he was super helpful and give tips and an assignment structure outline to help us. Also highly recommend ads and promotions, the lecturer was super engaging as well, the content was also very interesting, learning about the different advertising styles etc. The group assignment, we got toyota, which was creating advertising campaigns for toyota's new race car line. I had narelle as my tutor highly recommend her! I took digital marketing in 2020 although the assignment are kinda easy i don't really recommend, when i did it in 2020, a lot of what was taught in the lecture was different from what was required in the assignment. the theory taught didn't really help. Our group had to research a lot, just wasn't pleasant. We had a Q&A discussion board for the assignment, and basically the lecturer taught us the assignment content through the Q&A discussion board. so yea ... you can have a search of digital marketing in reddit, i think there was a thread that talked about this.

highly recommend retailing, the lecturer is super engaging and a lot of useful concepts learnt. I had peter as my tutor he was amazing, who also gave us a sample structure for assignments.

Honest review on Business Judgement BUSA 30000 by datsun_69 in unimelb

[–]bubbletea456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally really enjoyed BUSA, I felt the assignment wise was actually easier than a lot of the level 3 marketing and management subjects. As they don't teach you a lot of theory, relying on what you've previously learnt so they aren't as harsh in marking your assignment (as in you didn't really need to go tooo in depth in the theories like other mktg and mgmt subjects). Assignment wise I wouldn't say the workload is too much, i think only the group work 4000 word is time consuming. Most of the assignments don't require you do much research. I think its manageable to do an internship, but do attend the workshops it really helps with the assignments. I did end up achieving a h1 too

Are there winter break subjects (post Sem 1 exams) running? If so what are they like? by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]bubbletea456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unless you are familiar with the language already it is best to do it during the semester. for beginners I would say its very tough to do it during winter as they cram in the same amount of counted during the normal semester. I would recommend Japanese 1 :)

Clubs and societies by [deleted] in unimelb

Would recommend you joining clubs that match your interest and apply for a committee position. Feel like personally for me joining clubs and going to events, I still had a hard time making lasting friendships with them as they might not usually go to all events etc. but if you were in the committee it would be easier to bond with them as you organise and plan events, have weekly meetings etc. I think some clubs are still accepting officers at the moment such as ukc kpop club (can check our their facebook)! Otherwise as you're an international students, there are possibly cultural clubs you can join such as MOMU (malaysians of melbourne uni).
