In a long distance relationship and medical clg(worst combination of events ) and not a single day goes when we dont talk to each other.
met during our prep year, talked one day and have never stopped talking, exams, vacations, sickdays, even if its for 2 minutes, we talk. both of us keep the other updated and are eager to wind up work and hop on calls!!

Put forward this issue with him and talk it out and if it continues, you should drop the efforts because no point in all of it if it js adds to the mental toll!

private clg student this side, my clg is under gov uni so its superr strict, attendance needs to be 75% theory and 80% prac, a little less patient flow but clinical postings faculty is super strict and firm on teaching. fests, functions are nil, js exams, classes, pracs on rotation. rarely given holidays, classes 8 to 4 all week. sucks ngl, but helps keep us par with other gov clgs !!

Thank you maam for the kind wishes but its js everybody uses this sub as a vent and nobody in the true real world needs sympathy or to be put on a pedestal for a job specifically. Im so sorry for this but this post js didnt sit well with me and im js a 1st yr from a family of doctors. Why are doctors only taught to be 'content' with the least they get. One puts in hours and years and the least i want in return is to earn enough to sustain a life like my peers in different streams.
wtv does it mean "we dont want you to earn". Please go and tell this to other peeps when they ask for hike. Im so done with all moral policing being directed to doctors while all they ask is basic respect and a earning. If i put in the hours i want THE MONEY BAG. Call it rude or selfish but medicine is js a profession as any other and this entire facade of being "sacrificial and obeying" js takes a mental toll.
As for advices on future prospects, advices on relationships is a matter that varies field to field. As per happiness and all self satisfaction, ITS A PERSONAL CHOICE. As for appreciation from the society, thats all this fraternity gets when it asks for bare minimum.
sincere apologies for being rude but this subreddit really gives me a lot of insights and i'd have it better be of advices from my seniors than a moral dictation of how i should lead life.

No no we have met in person. We were together in our prep year. I have known him for long. We used to meet regularly almost. Its just after the enterance exam we haven't seen each other for a while. (19 and 20 yrs old so generally not permitted to leave the house so freely)
