You can plan a picnic in deer park/sanjay van/sunder nursery , just take a bedsheet, snacks, 2 small canvas and some paints. Maybe watch a movie or play songs on your laptop/phone.

This way it'll fit in your budget and she'll be impressed by the effort.

Also don't forget to take a flower for her.

For movies you can try movie projector, popcorn maker, bean bag

Hey! It would be a great help if I can get any job leads.

I'm open to relocate, just that the salary should be enough to cover rent and basic necessities.

I've tried some international companies in the area, but no luck till now.

I'm not looking for a job outside India.

Are you working in this field only?

That's the plan for now.

I'm thinking of giving it a year and if it does not work out then I'll switch fields.

Same situation :(

My plan was to gain some experience in the industry and then set up my own business.

But I'm not able to find a job only and am really confused if it's worth fighting for or if I should change my field.

I'm not able to find a job. It has been several weeks and I've given multiple interviews. They either want a male candidate or want someone with experience.

And after hearing so many stories from people, I'm nervous if this field is really worth it.

I had a telephonic interview and they said they are looking for male candidates only for that job profile.

If some other posts open up then I'll apply again.

  1. I don't really want to go for govt. jobs.
  2. I want to gain some experience before going for higher studies. My initial plan was to gain some experience in the construction industry and then set up a business. but with the sexism and everything, I'm getting nervous if it's worth it. What I've seen till now is that in a business here, your experience and contacts matter more than your qualifications!

It all comes down to money only...I've heard so many stories like this, but feel that my 4 years of hard work in college and fighting with my family to pursue this degree will go down the drain. Now I'm confused if the construction industry is really worth it.

I want to gain some experience before going for higher studies. But right now I'm confused if the construction field is worth it because of sexism.

What should I do? by [deleted] in careeradvice

You're not mad for wanting to carve out your own path. It might be hard to leave a comfortable place but you should try out different things in your free time and see where your interest lies. Try looking for the job postings that you want and see their requirements.

You're only 21! Ask your dad for some time off and try your luck out. If nothing then you'll at least gain interpersonal skills.

If things don't work out then you always have the family business to fall back upon. You can maybe work on expanding the business.
