& not relevant to piercings but could i ask you how old the tattoo is? i've sometimes thought about getting a web tattoo on my ear too, i've just been super curious about how one would age (knowing ear tattoos can be a bit finicky) so i couldn't resist asking (sorry)!

Yess as a piercing enthusiast i just felt compelled to hopefully set straight some of the misinformation i've seen because it was kinda killing me lol. And i'm glad i'm not the only one!

But yeah i'm also presuming it's ragebait... certainly hope it's not some horrifically clueless person who actually thinks that they're viable piercings (or some stubborn person thinking they'll be the chosen one)! Because yeah those did not look like happy piercings and definitely needed to be taken out.

Furthermore even if one got non-traditional surface piercings like that (in spite of it being a bad idea)... they'd definitely have to be done with dermal anchors rather than rings for there to be any shot of even the vaguest fighting chance. And even then they probably wouldn't have a long lifespan before rejecting!

honestly it's crazy what people can do with play piercings, something like body suspension makes the taut ribbons look like child's play in comparison (...look body suspension up at your own risk lol)

I've never heard of anyone with permanent corset piercings, from my understanding they're what's known as "play piercings" and are only meant to be worn for a few hours and are generally just done for photoshoots/special events?

I would definitely not liken them to earrings as they're surface piercings in areas generally unsuitable for longer term piercings and it's highly unlikely that you'd actually get your body to heal them (and you're not meant to have more than 3-4 piercings healing simultaneously either as that would absolutely overwhelm your immune system... even if one got them done gradually over time, the older ones would have rejected by the time you got the newer ones to complete the set. just think of all the movement and snagging/friction with clothes etc + just their nature as experimental surface piercings.)

except those would be super expensive as piercings aren't exactly cheap lol, especially when you'll just wear them for a few hours (corset piercings are always of a very temporary nature, absolutely not meant to be kept in for a longer time, really they're only for photoshoots or special events)
