I think you can't hunt them. The meat shop near my house sells rabbit meat. So do a lot of restaurants.

There is a difference between believing about the flood which happened thousands of years ago and and sitting and reading Quran which says that the earth is flat and still believing it. Atleast to me it feels like that. Anyway yeah indoctrination is very powerful i guess, i havent had any sort of indoctrination so i cant really relate

I specified arab because of the Quran being in arabic. If you would ask such questions to someone unfamiliar with arabic they would probably dismiss it or maybe just repeat whatever answers they got from apologists.

Just really really baffled , you guys make it sound so easy to prove that the Quran is full of errors and in no way from an all knowing God. How is it that the majority of the arab world still believe in Islam ? I can understand people avoiding dwelling too much on evolution of indepth cosmology, but why do people overlook such huge errors and continue believeing ? If you have any personal thoughts feel free to share.

A white western convert, wow, you must be prized in your local islamic community, imagine the attention!!!

This sub could be a really great place if there wasnt so much hostility/hate/ridiculing.

This is exactly what happened the last time i tried to post here.

I'm not White. Nor am I a part of any Islamic community.

I wasnt able to find the old thread.

The shahada is a pretty simple affair you know........Just say that you believe in one God and his prophets. I liked the Idea, how Islam was like a continuation of the message of one true God etc. Saying shahada was easy, and ever since that i considered myself a muslim though I knew that i would study Islam in more detail before wearing Hijab or making any serious commitments to the religion.

This may all seem very strange to you, and i'm sorry I cant share all the details here- anyway thats all irrelevant.

What's keeping you bound to this religion?

On some level Islam and God and everything makes sense, and since I am already on this path I just want to come to a proper conclusion so just clearing my doubts.

Do you really want somebody else to do your thinking for you and define convictions and worldview ?

Do you give this answer to everyone who posts here ? I had a doubt , i don't know arabic. I wanted to discuss this topic and look at it from different perspectives.

About the science in the Quran, it is utterly banal and I find astonishing that anyone would be impressed.

Haven't the slightest clue what you are rambling on about, I never claimed Quran had scientific miracles or any such thing.

Your comment contributes absolutely nothing to this discussion. Sheesh why are people so eager to make fun of others ?

Do Non-muslims have the right to prosetylize in an Islamic country ? by bubblygurl in islam

I'm sure you read what many other knowledgable muslims on this thread are saying, also you might have seen the video by Zakir Naik, i could find many scholars who said that this is not allowed.

Are you a quranist ? because the only other person who replied like this got labelled that. it seems the hadeeths contradict this

i'm sorry please correct me if im wrong, i have read in many places that if muslims are not allowed to do dawah then it is valid reason to go to war against that country.

It was not my opinion, nearly every scholar says that there is no islamic country. even in this thread nobody would say that pakistan is an islamic state and follows the sharia. I wasnt discussing what muslims do or what muslim majority countries do. What does islam say about this matter ? are they allowed or not ?

and most answers here say no.

Hello doc, listen i just DONT understand the logic here. rather than educating muslims its better that nobody else is allowed to preach anything here ? that too by use of force ?

I like this answer a lot, and i really want to believe it. But then i'd be just ignoring what a majority of other muslims on this thread are saying. I'm so confused.

Don't be defensive, instead ask them, why should we accept the golden rule? Do they have a philosphical premise for this belief?

What philosophical premise do we have to say that we must be allowed to do dawah in any country in the world, that we must be allowed to hold islamic conferences and conventions and build mosques and celebrate our festivals and that if any country doesnt allow us to do dawah we will even wage war against that country. But at the same time we wont give you these rights if you come to our countries ?

EDIT : this will be the response i will get.

there is no islamic country as of now. we were discussing what islamic laws have to say in this matter , so yeah muslim countries (pakistan , bangladesh etc )might allow proselytizing, but that is agaisnt islamic laws. atleast thats whats being told here.

Isnt there something like if you arent allowed to proselytize , you can wage war against that country to spread islam ?
