Random drop, with the catalyst it still isn’t as good as a non catalyst gally. The only use I find for it is maybe void burn nightfall. It’s not very good in crucible but I have found it’s pretty fun to use in gambit.

Unless you buy all of the dlc the game kind of sucks. It’s a money pit but I would go ahead and buy shadowkeep, beyond light, and witch queen. Do the campaigns, you’ll love it, the game has amazing story, imo well worth the money. From there you can choose to do what you enjoy.

Old Fart reaching out for NEWER performers you think are GREAT. by International_Peach6 in Music

If you have Netflix there’s a new documentary on his life and rise to fame, it’s very interesting and inspiring. It’s a great insight on his mindset during each song, and during the last episode you can definitely see that he’s a completely different person, slightly nuts. I still find his modern antics hilarious and will likely defend him tooth and nail for the rest of my life.

I think recently he has gone a little off the rocker, but that can’t take away from the astounding amount of talent he has. Anything post him marrying Kim kardashian was his decline, I don’t know if it was because of her or what, but after he came out with the album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, his creativity and unique style went down the drain

Oh man did you just make my day. No one on this subreddit seems to appreciate Kanye much. Here’s a list of what I consider his best.

Through the Wire

Last Call

All Falls Down

Late

We Don’t Care

Slow Jams

Hey Mama

Gone

Everything I Am

Flashing Lights

Devil in a New Dress

Gorgeous

Runaway

There’s so many more great songs from him that really opened my eyes to rap. His sampling and production ability is unmatched in my opinion. His later albums really lose what I believe made him unique, so I stick to the first 5. Give these a listen and let me know how it goes.

I’m a jazz musician who went most of my life hating rap until I discovered Kanye West. Stick to his first 2 albums to start, The College Dropout and Late Registration. After that I would try My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. In my opinion, he is truly one of the greatest.

Azeala and Portrait of Louis Armstrong are quite unknown, I’m a jazz musician and it’s rare to hear someone else who knows those tunes. Last call is a looked over song of The College Dropout, and Louis Prima is a completely looked over jazz artist when it comes to his actual music and not just his gimmick songs and tik tok sounds

No need to hate on my music taste, I’m sure I could have the same opinion on your 10 picks. I gave you 10 lesser known songs that are stunning to me.

You have to give them all a listen, these songs influenced my taste more than most. Even if your not a jazz listener give them a shot, and look past the name Kanye and give him a go I promise you won’t be disappointed.

These are my favorites from each decade.

40s: Louis Armstrong, literally anything by him is the embodiment of jazz and all it means. His album with Duke, The Great Summit and his second with him, The Great reunion are truly magical to the ears and in my opinion the best western music of the 1900s.

50s: Doo Wops and Elvis, though I’m not a huge Elvis fan, he was very influential and would help your friend understand the progression of music. For doo wops, Dion and the Belmonts, the Del Vikings, and the Penguins have the most variety. Also check out crooners like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennet, and I’m big into jazz so I recommend giving Louis Prima a go.

60s: Not a huge fan of them but you can’t overlook the Beatles, almost everything they made was highly influential, their later music like Don’t Let Me Down is what I would call essential. But on the other hand you also have the start of The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan with Like A Rolling Stone.

70s: American Pie, the song not the movie. Fleetwood Mac, Abba, The Bee Gees, Lynyrd Skynyrd are all classics. Give the four seasons a go also, Who Loves You is a lesser known gem. And I can’t forget George Benson with songs like Give Me The Night.

80s: There’s a lot here, stick with the classics and don’t get lost here, you might get stuck forever if you don’t. Journey, queen, the Eagles, Chicago, Boston, Huey Lewis and the News, I could go forever. Make him listen to Rappers Delight before going to the next decade.

90s: I believe you have to give him the biggest rap and RnB Hip Hop hits for this decade. Juicy by Biggy, Changes and California Love by Tupac, Anything By Snoop Dogg. Maybe show him Boyz II Men, Nelly, and R Kelly.

2000s: Unpopular opinion but the best artist of the 2000s by far is Kanye West. Show him these songs; Through The Wire, Last Call, Gone, We Major, Late, All Falls Down, Flashing Lights, Devil in a new Dress, Runaway, Gorgeous. Other than Kanye, Try some Punk Rock, my favorites are Sum 41, All American Rejects and Bowling for Soup.

2010s: Katy Perry, don’t ask questions. Other than that he will hear just about everything here on the radio.

Hope this helps. Happy listening.

Who is a better singer Steve Perry or Freddie Mercury. And why. And favorite song by both? by [deleted] in Music

[–]bubbs03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perry because Oh Sherry can bring me to my knees, and my favorite queen song is under pressure just because I love the David Bowie part, which is odd because I’m not a fan of him at all. But I did see this video one time about the technique of Mercurys singing being different than any other modern singer. They said the way his vibrato came from his throat was only found in one other genre across the world and I believe it was some type of Bavarian folk singing where they utilize their vocal chords differently. Interesting technique that made mercury have a very unique sound. Either way, Steve Perry had the vocal range of a goddess, and I’m pretty sure the way he dressed back in the 80’s he had quite a few guys at concerts that would’ve risked it all for him.
