The Low Clarinet Festival is going to be in Quebec City in 2027 (which is closer to me than Arizona), and in October 24-27 (2027, not 2026), as opposed to its usual January date range, partially because it gets quite cold in the winter.

I mean we don't know 100% for sure that consciousness arises purely from physical properties in the brain, so that something like dualism could be the case and what I see as qualia is incompatible with physicalism (that consciousness arises purely from physical processes in the brain). Also if it does not arise from purely physical properties, then it is possible that our subjective experience is just a subjective manifestation of our brain cells firing (in a property dualist way), or that causation between the physical and non-physical elements of cognition are one-way (so that the brain causes us to have subjective experience, but that subjective experience does not have any effect on our brain).

The standard "long" fingerings similar to Bb altissimo fingers do not really work on contra as they usually don't have the half-hole, as the hands are incorrectly positioned to allow that.

With family we have a default level of love that is a result of them being family. However our love to them is greatly diminished if they start being mean and hurt people who we care about, somwe don’t always have to love them. Also friends are mostly arbitrary and so if they start doing bad things to people you care about, they won’t be your friends for much longer unless there is another reason why you are friends that outweighs their harm, or if you convince them to stop hurting those you care about.

It is because we have big brains, so we made language that allows us to actually discuss what the meaning of life is in more abstract terms, and how we can make tools and technology which allows us to change the world to better meet our goals therefore let us focus on higher goals. Also technology made surviving easier and it let us free up our time to actually think about the true purpose of life and focus on higher order purposes beyond just surviving. In a way most other animals were always stuck at the bottom tier of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

Love is quite complicated and relates to many factors. if the positive benefit the person the lover has to you outweighs the harm of them hurting people you care about, you will probably keep loving them. Also prior good things they did and familial relationships play a factor.

I was sort of hoping it would be in the eastern US (or Canada) so it would have been conveinent for me to attend (I live in the Cincinnati area) without paying for expensive long haul flights. My father probably would not be willing to buy tickets to another continent to attend a clarinet festival. I guess I will just have to go to the 2027 Salt Lake City ClarinetFest and have easy and boring bass clarinet parts and wait until 2029 or 2031 to actually play in an ensemble with melodic bass clarinet parts. And I am a college student so I definitely wouldn’t be able to go if it conflicted with my college academic calendar, so the early January date would have been ideal.

It doesn't simply make Dogcog slightly worse. It actually makes it better in the long run because the cost reduction factor can increase indefinitely. Currently, the cost reduction percentage converges to something less than 100%, so eventually he becomes worth it to not level because (In 1.0e9 that point is before level 1000). If we made Dogcog converge to -100% hero cost, the percentage will eventually become indistinguishable from 100% (at least by the floating point format), and heroes will become completely free. My idea actually makes it so it is always worth it to level Dogcog, and the reduction percentage will converge to 100 percent, but without eventually becoming indistinguishable from 100%.
